Park hours updates?

My FP booking saga continues.

I was able to book SDD this morning but the earliest time I could get was 6:50p. It does look super cool to ride in the evening but I'd prefer not to hold up our FP options till so late in the evening.

DHS is open 8a-10:30p in July - mid August, I'm hoping they extend the park hours the last week in August as well. What's the best/quickest way to find out if they extend the park hours? I really want to modify our FP for that first hour if possible. I'll be super bummed if they extend the hours and I miss it.

Touring Plans has a helpful feature which allows you to “watch” your trip dates and it will send you notifications of park hour changes. My understanding is that the notification is usually pretty quick once Disney makes the change, although I don’t have a ton of personal experience using it. I believe it’s part of the options for subscribers, although not totally sure about that.

Other than that, you can start a watch thread around here, or just keep an eye open - someone usually posts about it.

FWIW, it is hard to read into any patterns with Disney and park hour changes, but for June they did a bigger update Friday, May 11; for July they did a bigger update Friday, June 15.

Also, I don’t believe the extra fast passes are always released at the same time as the hours update. So you’ll have to keep watching even after, possibly. Good luck!

I also like Touring plans for the hours feature and reservation finder for ADRs.
Keep checking on SDD, more FPs may come available or people cancel.

They updated our hours for July to an hour later. The FP's for FOP were not added until 5 days later.
