Park hours likely extended?

We haven’t been to Disney in five years. It used to be that as we got closer to our trip - and many times during the week we’re there - the park hours would be extended. Is this still the case? We’re going in October, the week of Columbus Day. From what I’m reading, it will be pretty crowded, especially CD weekend, and the weekend after as well, with slightly more moderate crowds in between. If this is the case, are the parks likely to stay open later than currently published? Right now, the parks are all closed by 8 or 9pm, with the exception of 10pm for two days at Epcot, and one evening EMH at Epcot until 11pm. Hollywood Studios and AK close at 8pm every day. MK...MNSSHP five nights that week, 9pm the other nights. And as reported, the only place with evening EMH is that one night at Epcot. I’m hoping that if the crowds do end up being a lot heavier than they’ve been when we used to go at this time of year, that the park hours will be extended in kind. I feel like I’m going to be set straight by those in the know, however...

In all likelihood, yes, but won’t be set until a few weeks or maybe a month before.

I think it is certainly possibly MK May extend to 10 or 11 (midnight is even possible). It won’t be done until much closer, like a month out. AK may also extend hours much closer too. About a month out from Easter week this year they extended park hours from 8/8:30 pm to 9:30. Epcot won’t extend. We’ve been going to F&W since 2014 and they only stay open until 10 on Fridays and Saturdays (and EMH is 9-11 Tues). From my recollection DHS was only open until 8 or 8:30 that same week last year and it was only 8:30 this past week when we were there for Easter. When MK and AK hours extended I was surprised DHS did not. I think it is certainly possibly they might extend hours once StarWRs land opens but it is also possibly that they run after hours events instead to bring in more $.

It’s summer!!!! June, 2019!!! And the MK is set to close at 10pm on Saturday, June 15, 2019!!! What is up with that???!!!! Prices keep going up and the time in the park dwindles!! This ain’t right!! Any chance this night will get extended?? 10pm close on a Saturday night in the summer???!!! Seriously???? Big Disney Fan...but sorely disappointed!! Any input??

MK has later hours on different days (not Saturday), including a 1:00am closure on 6/12 and 6/19.

We went the first week of June - and some park hours were extended for that week on Fri May 10. FYI when they extended AK hours - they also added more FOP FP for the extended hours!!

This was back from April, but it looks like the parks are going to have extended hours during your stay in the morning. I'm not sure there will be much on the later end.
