I have an idea of how long it takes to travel from our offsite resort to the various parks. But, can anyone give me an idea of how long it takes to travel from park to park if we are hopping i.e., MK to HS using the monorail to Epcot and the boat to HS? Girls have ADR's at CRT @ 8 and hopping to meet boys at HS after their ADR at H&V @ 9.

Also, where do I pick up the boat at Epcot to HS once I exit the monorail?

Would it be better to have both parties meet at Epcot and schedule HS for another day? :confused3

Thanks! :cheer2:

There is direct bus service between MK (via the TTC) and DHS. There's no need to stop at Epcot unless you really want to. :)

Sorry to the OP for "threadjacking" (please forgive me!) ...just have a similar question along this line...

DH and I are doing a 'date night' on a Wed night May 14th and are trying to park hop to 3 different parks to do thrill rides we can't do with the kids...

Should we just catch a cab to zip to each park or try to park hop using disney transportation? We are starting at OKW and would like to do Epcot (MS only), Studios (Tower & RR), and Animal Kingdom (EE only) (EMH night)...

are we insane? Can we even physically DO this in a 4-5 hour timeframe or have we lost our minds?

The monorail is at the front of the park, and the boat is at the back of the park, so part of the answer lies in how long it takes your group to walk the length of Epcot. After you walk to the back of the WS, the exit is near France. After you wlak out the exit, the boat loading area is to the left (along the waterway).

As another poster said, this isn't the best way to get from one to the other. The answer of timing will also depend on your wait times for each mode of transportaion - you might walk on to everything, or you might just miss the monorail or boat. The monorails (you'll take one to TTC, then the second to Epcot) are only a few minutes apart, but the boat can take a while to arrive, and then it unloads, and then the boat sits a bit to allow loading time (which can vary). For most folks who can walk reasonably quickly, it's actually faster to walk from the back exit of Epcot over to HS.

Generally, Mickey advises to allow 45-60 minutes for hopping. So if the girls head over to HS after their meal is done (via direct bus), they should be able to arrive about the time the boys are done. If they go by monorail it could take 90 minutes easily.

I think you might be able to do it if the parks were dead, but the parks will be fairly busy then. I think that trying to do 4 headliner rides in 3 different parks without the aid of fastpass in 4 or 5 hours would be pretty difficult even if you could teleport.

yeah, that's what I figured. I think we'll have ONE fastpass, if we're lucky...since we will be at a park with the kids before taking them back to OKW, but we'll see if we can work out the return window.

We'll just have to prioritize!

If you plan to go to MGM that day and you have at least 2 kids you could use your tickets to get 2 FP for Tower and kids tickets to get 2 FP to RnR making your night more possible. Noting that all 3 parks you are interested in are closing at 9pm. I would have to assume your date is starting by 5pm to make this at all possible. I would suggest starting at Epcot and Mission Space. Then head to the international gateway enterance and take a brisk walk to MGM (it takes about 15 minutes at a good pace). Do the MGM rides and hopefully be done by 8pm. Hop on a bus to AK- as long as you are in the line by 9pm then you will get to ride.

You are forgiven on the "threadjacking"....lol.

Thanks for the info on the bus and the 45-60 minute window for hopping time. That helps.

We will take the bus from MK to HS. :yay:

Thanks abbeyville!

And Rebecca...thanks! We are, in fact, spending the day in MGM before our date, and we have two kids, so the plan you suggested works out. Maybe I'll have the caregiver come early at 4ish so we can get a head start (currently planned for 5pm).

Does it speed things up at all if we take a cab from OKW to Epcot and/or from studios to AK? Or are the busses the speediest way?

Thanks! We're probably crazy to want to even try this, but it will be fun!

If the bus is there then they are fastest route. We were at AK one day and moving to MGM. Half of us went by car and half by bus., Those of us on the bus. It arrived within 5 minutes of us being at the stop, were in MGM and eating our lunch when the carload arrived from driving and parking. OKW to Epcot should only take a few minutes- especially if you catch the bus from the last stop- when you get on another time check to see where the last stop is and get on from there.

MGM to AK is about a 10 minute bus ride- you may be waiting up to 20 minutes for any of the buses. If you are in line for the bus by 8:30 you should be able to make the ride with a little bit of a hussle- you may just be at the very end of the line.
