Park hopping question

On my next WDW trip I'm thinking of not taking the park hopper option. We're thinking 1 day for AK, 1 for MGM, 2 for EPCOT and 2 for MK and eating in the park we are in for the day.

However, if we go to MK and then decide to go to a resort restaurant (ex. 'Ohana) , after dinner can we return to MK in the evening or do we need the park hopper to return to the park we were in previously that day?

Any input would be great to help me plan!

MYW Tickets w/o hopper give you access to one park per day, so you will be able to re-enter the same park you were in prior to leaving. In the past they stamped your hand if you were goin to re-enter, but with the finger scan they no longer do that.
