What are the travel times like between the parks? Is there a list somewhere about travel time between each of the parks, including Downtown Disney & the Boardwalk? Using different transportation methods?

For example,
am - leave POFQ
am - MK, open at 9am (1 - what time do we leave the POFQ)
lunch - 11:40 ADR @ Coral Reef (2 - a) what time should we aim to leave MK, and b) by which transport?) (3 - or should we just do Epcot that morning?)
pm - MK (4 - what time could we expect to get back to the MK if lunch is over at 1pm)
dinner - 6:40 ADR @ Boma (AKL) (5 - a) what time should we aim to leave MK, and b) by which transport?)
night - Extra Magic Hours at MK, back to the park after dinner.

This is our most mental day planned (I think). My DBF and are are both foodies and all of our ADRs are planned. Many days I'd like to try and pop over to Epcot for the F&W for lunches. But I know the planning that I have to do will depend on travel times & methods, so I need to get a better understanding of it before I hit the parks.

Any advice and information would be wonderful.

Thank you all so much for all of your help and tips!

I've moved this thread to Transportation.. I know it kinda straddles both transportation and theme parks/strategies.. but I figure you'll get the best answers to the transportation part of your questions.. which everythign else is contingent upon.. Here.

I'll take a stab at it however.

1. If MK opens at 9am, I'd try to leave the resort around 8am. Not 8:15, but 8am. Be at the bus-stop by 7:50 in my book.

2a. You'd have to leave MK no later than 10:50 to make an 11:40 ADR.
2b. Monorail is probably quickest.

3a. I'd just do Epcot that morning. Trucking to another park for an ADR and then BACK to the original park is a LOT of wasted time in transportation in my book. (Presume about 45 minutes to an hour to exit MK, get the monorail to the TTC, transfer to the Epcot train, and then ride over to Epcot and get yourself in the park.)

4. Again, I'd say probably 45 to 55 minutes to get BACK to MK after you leave Epcot.

5. I'd really suggest to try and not plan days like this. This is a lot of wasted time in transport between parks just for meals. You're looking at 35 minutes to 45 minutes to exit MK and get to AKL and a similar number to return. I'm counting the time leaving the park etc.

Someone here on the transport board could definitely narrow those times down better, I admit I might be off.. but from a planning perspective, hmm.. wow.. lots of travel time just to eat these ADRs.

Thanks for the assistance CanadianGuy (and for the relocation...I'll check out the board here too). Fellow Canuck here :)

We're such foodies and have scheduled lots of ADRs...plus I would love to be able to do lunch at the F&W at Epcot a couple days (when I wasn't planning on being at that park).

Needless to say, I'm going to have to reassess a little.

I just don't like the look of the quick service restaurants in most parks (am I wrong...oops, this will belong on the restaurants thread). ;)

 my DBF...the Coffee Snob , but never realized how much of a food snob I am *gack*

I didn't ask.. are you travelling with children? Or is it just adults?

Cuz what you plan would be a LOT easier with just adults.

I've asked a more specific question on another thread, I couldn't find much info on interpark travel.

It's just 2 adults. When we have kids :hourglass I plan to plan the trip, kid specific; one park a day, with breaks. Whereas, I know we can handle a little more craziness, plus the whole foodie thing which makes me just want to sit in Epcot and eat for 7 days! I'm looking forward to LOTS of walking to make up for all the eating.

Me again!!! I really think that you are going to being running around like the proverbial chicken with his head cut off. Let's see how this is going to work for you...
I wouldn't go to MK that morning, just go to Epcot to begin the day, otherwise you'll have to be at the bus stop for MK by 8:00, park opens at 9:00, you'll have to leave it by 10:45 in order to get to your lunch at Epcot...via the monorail system which could take you up to 3/4 of an hour or so, then walking to the restaurant. So....go to Epcot that morning. Have lunch at Coral Reef. Lunch should be over by 1ish. You could head to MK via the monorail, again 3/4 hr or so. So, you won't get to MK until about 2:00. To be at AKL and Boma for 6:30ish, you would have to leave MK, via the AKL bus, by 6:00, absolute latest. Phew...I'm worn out just thinking about it.
If it were me..I would do Epcot that morning, eat lunch there, then stay in Epcot until 5:40ish, then head to AKL, get there a bit early and check out the resort before dinner..it's too beautiful to miss.

lol...thanks!

I know, I tried REALLY hard not to over plan...and then...well...yup...it happened!

I think I've got the final plan for that day...

Epcot AM to lunch @ Coral Reef
Leave and hit Animal Kingdom until close
Make our way to Boma, and if we get there too early, we'll check out the resort.
Then MK after dinner...it's an open late night.

I know 3 parks in one day can be a bit much...but this way works out to be the same amount of travel.

So...one day down 5 more to go!

With the amount of restaurants we're doing in Epcot, we'll be there quite a bit, and if I don't get enough Epcot by the last day...that's where the last day is planned (breakfast in Akershus & Dinner @ the Biergarten).

Uhm...please tell me I'm not the only overplanning person out there.

I AM trying to keep it...easy (ish).

;)

(Note: if by the 2nd day I've tired myself out, I'm sure my DBF will take over and tell me we're doing it his way, CALMLY!) :) You should see how crazy my "week on a beach vacation" turned out to be! (yeah, I don't know how to just "sit on a beach"!)

6 sleeps...feels too long now!!! And I still don't know what my costume for MNSSHP is going to be...*gack*
