Just got an email. Haven't read the fine print, but they say it is coming back in some form with the new year

Update, here is the fine print:

  • We will set specific Park Hopper hours during which this option will be available. Park Hopper hours will start at 2 PM each day and end at the park’s scheduled close time. Guests will soon be able to check DisneyWorld.com/ParkHours and the My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date Park Hopper hours, as they could start earlier at a later date, depending on the day and park.
  • With the updated Park Hopper experience, Annual Passholders must make a Disney Park Pass reservation for the first park they plan to visit AND enter that first park prior to visiting another.
  • At this time, a park reservation is not required after the first park, however, reservation requirements are subject to change. The ability to visit another park will be subject to the park’s capacity limitations and applicable pass blockout dates.

Part of me is excited, part of me is nervous that they expect more people. haha. I liked the idea of less crowds.

Great news! I'm hoping this means that new APs sales will happen soon too.
If I read it correctly, which is difficult for me, the website also mentioned that if you AP expires before they open up sales they will allow you to renew.

We don't have any APs; so no renewal. We have 2 trips coming up and APs would save me a lot of money.

I already bought my tickets w/o park hopper and my plan was to purchase at guest services if they reinstated it.

I’m wondering if the “guests who purchased a ticket or annual pass with Park Hopper benefits” means that if you didn’t already purchase, Park Hopping can’t be subsequently added at guest services after arrival.... Thoughts?

I am wondering the same thing. However aren't tickets purchased now for next year refundable? Perhaps we can upgrade by phone?

Well—we can definitely add park hopper, because I just did that! A very pleasant CM helped me find it on MDE. Just go to “my plans” and then next to the word “itinerary,” click the “tickets and memory maker” link and you can upgrade your ticket(s). Yay!

I was super excited to see the “limited” park-hopping back into place!! My hubby really wanted to focus on Epcot during our trip next fall, but neither of us wanted to give up seeing the other parks. I’m kind of wondering if Disney is hoping if people are allowed to hop they will do exactly this... and come back to Epcot!! It seems to have been hit the hardest with the park res system. This might help even things out!

I am also hoping this means they might offer AP’s again by early next year 🤞

I know I was excited to see this for our next trip in September during food and wine. I don't like spending a full day at Epcot. I like to spend my mornings in one park and then head over to epcot around lunch time. There's no way to eat at every booth without park hopping. I imagine everyone else is thinking the same thing though and Epcot is going to get full in the afternoons, especially closer to dinner time.

What does this mean for ride of the resistance? It’s right at 2 o’clock when your able to try to join. Saids you have to be in the park which would rule it out. At 8 seconds after two it will be full. Do you really have to be in the park? Or could you be standing in line at Hollywood studios waiting to get in?

You have to have tapped in to DHS before 2 to try for a BG at 2. Also, the Disney announcement re PH states that if you hop to DHS you won’t be allowed to try to get a BG at 2. So your park pass that day will have to be at DHS in order to try for a BG at 2.

I am going to WDW in Feb 2021. One of my travel partners thinks we have to add something to our annual passes to park hop. I told her we have to have a park reservation at a park and enter that park, then after 2 we can jump over to another park as long as they aren't capacity. We do not have to add the park hopping option on. Am I thinking correctly??

Almost all APs include PH privileges. Which AP do you have?

All Annual Passes (except for the Epcot After 4 pass which is only available to FL residents) automatically include the ability to park hop (subject to park capacity).
