Park Hoppers?

I have a silly question. I see people talking about having park hoppers but I thought at Disnyland all tickets you buy are automatically park hoppers? Am I wrong? I'm a newbie so all this is confusing

All tickets that are over 1 day in length are automatically parkhoppers. But DLR does sell a 1-day / 1-park pass to both DL and DCA in addition to their 1 day parkhopper.

A person could also have an Annual Pass instead of a Park Hopper.

I think people just say "hopper" instead of "ticket"...
