Park Hoppers from The Disney Store

I was wondering if anyone has bought and used the new park hopper passes from the Disney Store? I did for our trip this past May and we had some problems using them. We had trouble getting into AK and MK on our first and second day. I was wondering if anyone else had any problems with them. We are thinking of a trip for the end of August and I am a trying to decide if we should purchase these again or not. I don't want to have problems agains. Also, on our last evening, I asked guest services at the BC if they could tell me if there were any days left on them and they told me that they can't check the passes from the Disney store. I think one of our passes should have 1 day left on it.

I have not used TDS passes, but it is too bad that you had such problems using them. :(

But it is what you were told at the BC that disturbs me the most. Guest services at ANY Disney resort should be able to tell you how many days are left on ANY passes - if they are from TDS or ANYWHERE else.

I would ask again when you go back. If you still can't get an answer at your resort, you can ask at any ticket counter at any of the parks.

We bought tickets from www.floridaorlandotickets.com 2 years ago, and we had absolutely no problem using them.

Good Luck! :)

I'll second Florida Orlando Tickets, and throw out Ticketmania as well. Both sell genuine WDW passes, just like you get from the Disney Store or WDW itself. Unless you're using a Disney Club discount at TDS, check out these reputable on-line ticket vendors and you will definitely find cheaper prices no matter which hopper you are looking at.

Both of these vendors buy their passes in bulk direct from Disney. You should have no problems using them whatsoever.

There are a number of reputable ticket brokers and most of them can save you $$$ over purchasing tickets directly from Disney.

Any tickets - EVEN the ones from TDS should be able to be checked at any Disney resort or at the parks themselves.

Perhaps there is a problem with the new material that they are using to make TDS passes (they are plastic, but not really like a credit card.) I have also heard about problems encoding these passes AT TDS when they go to activate them. So perhaps that is part of the problem that you experienced too, MNT.

Good Luck!
:)

I purachased our hoppers at the Disney Store just a few weeks ago for our trip. ( We leave Aug 1st)

When the CM was activating (sp) them something went wrong, so she had me get different hoppers off the rack and went to another register and everything went thru.

I have my receit that I will take with me and another slip of paper with the serial numbers on each ticket in case they get lost or stolen.

Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have a problem. Last time there we purchased the hoppers from our local AAA office and had no problem.

Aren't hoppers purchased from TDS cheaper than the online places?

This question not only goes for passes bought at TDS, but also passes you've purchased at floridaorlandotickets.com or Ticketmania: If you've stayed at an on-site resort, has Reservations had problems putting your park hopper passes on your room key when you checked in?

Thanks for the info! :)

In September '02, WDW made it policy to NOT add pre-purchased park tickets to room keys any longer. Apparently performing this transaction was a very cumbersome process which many CMs did not know how to perform.

Now the only time you can have your park passes on your room key is if you purchase a complete vacation package that includes resort room and park passes, or if you purchase your passes when you check-in at the resort.

We purchased 5 day PH's from The Disney Store in May and used them the first week of June. No problems whatsoever.

You do get the advanced price, so, it is less expensive to purchase them at TD.

When I got ready to purchase our passes (just did it yesterday!) I checked the prices. I thought I remembered one of the online places being a little cheaper. FloridaOrlandotickets.com didn't have a regular 5 day hopper, only the hopper pluses and Ticketmania showed a price of $240 (on the printable price list) for a regular adult 5 day hopper. I paid $231 and some change at TDS for the same pass. I could've sworn Ticketmania was a dollar or two cheaper when I checked a few weeks ago... I know it says that their prices are only good for a week or something so maybe they are able to offer different deals from week to week.
