Park Hopper Upgrade?

I did a search on this topic and think I understand how it works, but I would like to confirm again with the experts!

I bought 3-day park hoppers through my school employee's union for our upcoming trip in July. My husband just decided that he wants to take another trip in November for his birthday, spending 2 days in the parks.

Am I understanding correctly that I can upgrade our 3-day hoppers to 5-day hoppers just by paying the difference in price? Then we can use 3 days in July and save the other 2 for November? We are spending an afternoon at DTD the day before our first park day so we could easily stop at a ticket booth then.

Unfortunately upgrading won't work for your scenario because Disneyland tickets expire after 13 days of first use, so you could not use the remaining days in November.

Oh bummer! I didn't know about having to use them within 13 days. No, I'm not a Southern CA resident - we live in the Bay Area. Thanks for the info.

Okay, so... if you were to upgrade to a 5 day PH (as you asked about in your OP) the cost would be $246 (minus what you paid for your 3 day PH). You could upgrade to a Deluxe passport instead which is $379 (only an extra $133/person from the 5 day PH ticket) and it would be good for any excuse you could find to come back for another trip within one year of your first day of use during your July visit. PLUS, you would be able to get discounts after you upgrade. You just have to make sure to upgrade while your 3day PH is still valid, but after any blockout dates during your trip. (Since you said "July trip" really the only blockout date you would need to worry about is Sat., July 30th.)

Nope, that won't work at all. Sorry. Your best option is to get the DAP as Dreams suggested above. We actually have 3 Deluxe and 1 Premium so we could get the free parking at the Toy Story lot or M&F structure. Well, that and the discounts. You CAN upgrade your 3 day hopper to the DAP and they will credit your full purchase price towards the DAP....AND now ALL CA residents are eligible for the monthly payment plan.
