We are a family of 6 going to Disneyland in May of 2013. We are looking for 10 day park hopper tickets to pre purchase. Expedia doesn't have them available for that time of year yet and flight centers price has really gone up. Does anyone know where else they can be purchased in Australia?? Any help would be awesome.

There is no such thing as a 10 day park hopper ticket. The most you can get is a 5 day park hopper.

Actually there are special longer park hoppers for those visiting from Oz.
There is a section of the boards here with posts about international travel. Maybe that will help?

Disney recently raised pricing on tickets, which probably affected the 10 day pass significantly (sheer guess). I would imagine that is why you are seeing such an increase with Flightcentre's passes.

This is true for those in the US. However, for those from several countries outside of the USA, this is not the case. I believe Australia still has a 10 day ticket available, although I am not certain.

Hi. We're going in May and I have been waiting for the 14 day(now 10 day) tickets to be released. I also got a quote from Flight centre and didn't like the price! I have been checking Expedia regularly, and apparently Air New Zealand holidays also sold the 14 day tickets, but I haven't seen them on their website yet.
I do think that the price will increase substantially, even fom what the 14 day ticket was, because as a PP said, Disney increased all tickets by quite a margin.
Hoping to see someone offering them cheaper soon. I can only hope!

My travel agent has quoted $333.50 per adult and $311.50 per child (I think her prices might be a little more expensive than Flight Centre though). Is Expedia usually much cheaper than Flight Centre?

Flight centre quoted about the same. Approx $1317 for 3 Aduls and 1 child. I only know that Expedia was cheaper because I read that people asked Flight Centre to match Expedias price, which they mostly did. Not sure what the difference was.

I got 14 days park hopper tickets incl 1 morning madness entry directly from Qantas holidays for March next year. $324 per adult and $303 for a child. I rang them directly, not via a travel agent.

We purchased the longest available park hopper and then added days at the main gate. It was only about $10 more a day. I'd have to check back. We then had 7 day park hopper tickets.

Yeah, the 14 days tickets expire at the end of March 2013. From 1 April, only 10 day tickets are available.

So is it better to get tickets separate from your holiday package? We are looking at staying a Disney hotel I was under the impression that we could get a better deal if we booked tickets and hotel as a package rather than just the hotel????

Thanks

The only way to get the 10 (or 14) day ticket is to buy it from an Australian travel agent/company (or Expedia, when they have them available) - DL don't sell it (the lady I spoke to yesterday had never heard of it!)

I booked a package through DL directly - hotel and character meals. I don't think it was any cheaper to package them though, it seems that it was the same price as if I booked them separately, but this was convenient (and I'm hoping that by booking direct, we may have a better chance of an upgrade or other special perks ;) )

Thanks to everyone for all your info. I am finding the same information 14 day passes no longer available so will have to go with a 10 day pass. A shame as the 14 would have been perfect. I will check out the prices with Quantas and air new zealand, compared to flight center and post the results. Expedia do not yet have the passes available for May so am unable to compare with them But their staff seem hopeless I have had one staff member which is based in India try to sell me 14 day passes that expire in Jan 2013, even though i kept telling her the dates are for May 2013. So beware if you are going through expedia to check the validity dates!!
