The last time I was at WDW was 23 years ago. We have a party of 6. I am debating on whether to get the park hopping option or not. It is almost an extra $200 (for all 6) and I was wondering if it is worth it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Absolutely it's worth it, different parks close at different time, ie Animal Kingdom may close at 7 but Magic Kingdom stays open til 12, it's nice not to have to go home just because one park has closed. Also, I enjoy hopping around if one park is too crowded I just go to another...it's very convienent, worth the 35 dollars a person in my opinion :flower:

Everyones needs are different, the great thing about hoppers is, if you really want to do more then 1 park a day, you can, no worries about doing so if you have a hopper, more freedom is good! Welcome to the Dis! :wave2:

Hoppers are the best! We would visit AK till around 3:00, rest at our hotel and then scoot over to MK or MGM or Epcot, depending on shows and time of closing. Especially if you are withing walking distance like the Cont. resort or Beach and Yacht. You can stroll over and back whenever you want.

Well, I have 2 opinions on this .... depending on your situation.
If you are a party of adults, (or with kids over 12 or so) then I would say you could get by without the park hopping. You are old enough to stay in one park all day and enjoy it.
Now if you have kids, I would say get the park hopping. Kids younger than 10 or so are usually miserable if you try to keep them in the parks all day without a break for swimming or a nap, and after the break it may be easier to move to a different park that has something else you want to see.
Park hopping is a great feature, and you can do tons more with it (like going to MK during the day, then going to eat dinner at Epcot in World Showcase)
but if $$$ is an issue you can get by without it. HTH. Have a great trip !!! :mickeybar

Here is my humble opinion -

It is worth it because it offers you flexibility. Sometimes we like to go to one park in the am - return to the resort for a swim and then head off to EPCOT or Pleasure Island for dinner.

Go for the extra bucks it is worth it.

our last trip was the first year we got hoppers!!! what a difference in having more options if one park get crowded you can go somewhere else-we are getting hoppers again-it's worth it!!!

I decided not to hop. I am the type of person who will go, go, go. Without the ability to hop, my family may get a bit of a break. When AK closes early we can head to the pool & relax. :)

When are you going? Do you enjoy resort activities? Mini-golf? Campfires? We have wonderful vacations whether our guests (we're DVC and invite friends and family) have the park hoppers or not.

yes, it's worth it. I can't imagine going to WDW without hopping from park to park!

I went ahead and added park hopper. With all your inputs, I figured the park hopper would make our vacation more flexible. We would really like to see all 4 parks, but we only have 5 full days. To heck with the money - who knows when we can go again so might as well make the most out of this one.

Thanks everyone!

Good decision! We got home this morning from 8 days at WDW with 6 days worth of hopper tickets. We used the hopper option every day...one park at opening, break in the afternoon, and another park in the evening! HAVE FUN! :flower:
