I have a question and I hope I can word it so that it makes sense. We are going Nov. 18th-26th, free dining with base tickets at this point. While making all of my dining ressies I think I did pretty well in scheduling it all in one park per day. But there are 2 days that I have us in a park in the morning and a different one for dinner ressies. Can I buy park hoppers for just those days? If so, how much is it per person to add that? Or do I even have to? On Thanksgiving morning we are having a early breakfast at Kona and then a late dinner at 50's PrimeTime. Since Kona is located in a monorail resort do I even have to purchase park hoppers for that day if I found I didnt need them? Cant we just ride the monorail in and out without actually entering a park? Thanks ahead of time for any help you can give me.

The cost to add hoppers to tickets it $55.

The Kona Cafe reservation is for a non-park restaurant, so you will not need to 'hop' on that day.

If you have another day where you would need to be in one park for one meal and another park for another meal, I'd cancel one of them and find another resort to eat in for one of the meals. That way you won't need the Hopper add-on at all.

dang it....I'll price it and see if it is worthchanging my ressies for. Thank you!

OK..that was helpful, thank you. Now....do I have to add park hopper now or can I do it at check in?

You could add it at check-in.

I would wait and see if you can get another non-park reservation. And don't forget about the restaurants in DTD as well.

The mono-rail do not drop you off in a park they drop you off outside the gate. Now we always get park hoppers added because we like to end up most evenings at EPCOT and that seems to be where most of our ADR's are. As mentioned the fee for hoppers makes all the tickets hoppers. Also Kona is in Polly so the momo-rail drops you off outside the Poly restaurant, do breakfast there then get back on the momo to the transportation center and got to DHS because you have dinner there, so might as well spend the whle day there and wouldn't need a hopper that day.
Also our last day is always our grand finally day and we hit all the parks for our favorite rides so we need the hoppers for that.

As mentioned above Kona Cafe is in a resort so you don't need to have a park hopper for that. Is your base ticket for the full number of nights that you will be at WDW? I count 9 nights with the dates you provided. If you were planning a down day of no park some time during your stay it would be much more cost effective to add one day to your base tickets rather than add the hopper option ($3 or $4 versus about $50 p/p.) You would have to see if you could reschedule that second park ADR dinner to the off day since you can only enter 1 park per day unless you have the hopper. That's the way I would try to plan it.

You could add it at check-in.

You can also add it when you need it. Even if you have an ADR at another park, you may change your minds and go somewhere else. If you do want to hop, just go to Guest Relations or a ticket booth and add it then.

thanks everyone!! I appreciate the advice. Im weighing the options but think that I will probably just change that dining ADR to one in the park we are scheduled to be in or a resort rest. We are doing Animal Kingdom that day...any suggestions for a good dinner using 1 table service credit?

you guys rock! I went ahead and changed the reservation for dinner on the remaining day. We were going to San Angel but I changed to Boma. Were gonna be in Animal Kingdom so that works out fine. Again THANK YOU!! No need for park hoppers at this point.

See now isn't all that planning half the fun? This year we are going to try just the QSDDP so I printed out all the menus for CS restaurants dinners and breakfasts, but the best part is with the QSDDP you get 2 snack crredits per day and we love using them at the food and wine fest. Have a great trip.
