I am doing all this planning and just considered a potential wrench in my plans!

We are planning on going to MK on 12/20. Park hours will likely be later that day since it is the only one that week without a MVMCP. Since we have two young children (4.5 and 2.5), are staying at the Contemporary and really want to see Spectro, we are planning a mid-day rest/break.

We planned to return late afternoon/early evening for dinner at CP and then hang out until we can see Spectro. If the park is considered "full," could we be denied access? If it is full but you can show that you have ADR (and we are staying on site), would we be admitted?

I pray this doesn't happen but wondered if anyone had experience with this. I should have started planning in November. I am going to stress about all this for WAY too long!

I don't see the park being full on the 20th. If you were speaking about NYE then that would be different.

The parks have 3 levels of closure.

If the parks are closed due to capacity (level 3), then no one is allowed in even resort guests and AP holders. An ADR will not get you admittance either. A resort guest is guaranteed park admittance, but not to a specific park.

Then do me a favor and cross your fingers that this doesn't happen!

P.S. My sister lives in DeBary and we are headed there after leaving WDW on 12/22!

Actually this isn't true - you are guaranteed access to a major theme park but not necessarily the one of your choosing. ADR will not get you into the park if it has closed to resort guests. There are a few stages of closing and resort guests are among the last but it can happen. MK is the most likely to get to the latter stages but its not too often.

But... don't worry, we have been at Christmas three years in a row and 12/20 should not see that type of closing. If you are seeing closinings prior to the 20th then consider staying all day. Honestly though I think you will be fine on the 20th.
