We wanted to take a few little snacks into the parks when we went. We don't have huge bags to carry, though, and don't want things that will melt. Anyone have any good tips for snack type food that works well in the parks?

I was also wondering where the Disney Outlet store is? I think I read about it on here...somewhere that offers park merchandise from last year at cheaper prices? We will have a car, so getting there is no problem. (Do they have anything like this for the USO parks, too?)

I believe the disney outlet is in the prime outlet. There will be tons of advertisement in the restaurant tourist pamphlets. I have never been there but I am planning on going this Nov. Maybe look it up on line and then do a mapquest to print out directions from your hotel. I haven't done this yet but I usually print out directions for places I want to go ahead of time. We always get a car. Is this your first trip?? If you have kids Cici's pizza is great and we love golden coral for dinner too. Have fun planning.:cool1:

There are actually 2 outlets in the Orlando area. Everytime I visit WDW and have a car I go to each store. On my last trip in June of '06 we found that the store closest to WDW had the best stuff. Both stores usually have the same items for sale. The store closest to WDW is at the Orlando Premium Outlets. It is located near Little Lake Bryan. If you are a AAA member get an Orlando map from them because the outlet is listed on the map. The Premium Outlets is off 535 just on the other side of I-4. Once you are on the other side of the highway you turn left into the Lake Bryan area. Not sure of the street name. The other outlet is located near Universal Studios at the Belz Factory Outlet (used to be Prime Outlet). It is off International Drive. Not sure which building number the store is in. I hope this helps. Last summer we did a lot of Christmas shopping here for family. It was great. I would go when the stores open because the outlets get busy.

I never bring snacks into the park with me (too much to carry and I like to be really hungry at each meal!) so I can't advise you on that.

However, I can direct you to the link in my signature, which will take you to my Disney Outlets page with directions, maps, and operating hours of all 3 Disney outlet stores in the WDW area.

Universal used to have an outlet in the Prime 1 (formerly Belz) mall, but it closed about 2 years ago during the demolition phase of the mall re-build. I haven't heard whether the store moved to another mall, or if it will re-open when the re-build is complete.

The disney store in the Prime Outlet is called Character Premiere. I visited it twice last week while at WDW. It's located near the food court on the side that has the Mikasa store(if that helps). I spent $50 on one visit and that got me 2 splash mountain tees, a WDW 2007 tee and a Cheetah Girls zip up hoodie. It's definitly a great place to get some gifts. If you are staying at one of the resorts, ask them at the front desk for directions. We stayed at the POR Riverside and the lady handed me an index card with directions typed on it. I guess alot of people ask for directions to it.
