Park Days and "Plus Options"?

I have a question about the Magic Plus options on the new ticketing system. Say, for example I'm going to WDW for 8 days and I plan on going to the parks (and by parks I mean MK, Epcot, MGM, AK) on 5 days so I purchase a 5 day ticket with the parkhopper option. If I purchase the magic plus option to give me admission to the water parks, etc...do I have to use those admissions on the same days that I'm going to the parks or can I use a water park option on a "non park" day.

What I mean is if I use my ticket to go to just the water park for one day, is that considered a full day off of my 5 day ticket (leaving me with only 4 more days) or can I use the extra items whenever I want to?

The plus options are seperate from "park" admissions. So if you have 2 plusses on a 5 day ticket then you really have 7 "days" of admissions if you split up regular park days from water park days. If you go to both a regular park and a water park in the same day then you will have used 2 "days" - one regular and one plus day.

If you do not purchase the no expiration option I believe that all of your days - regular and plus - expire 14 days after first use.

I thought that the plus options were for places, not days. So if you went to two water parks and PI on one day, you used three pluses.

I think that's the answer I'm looking for. I think I want to desingate 3 days of our stay to "non park" activities, like one day at DTD, one resort relaxation day and one water park day. But, I didn't want the water park day to suck up one of my "days" on my ticket so hearing that they are separate from the regular park admissions is a good thing.

Just an observation... it doesn't cost much more to add the park days for the days you plan to go to water parks, etc. (About $10 more to add 2 more park days.) For this reason, we're going to go ahead and get park days for everyday of our trip. Leaves us the option of going to a water park in the morning, then seeing Illuminations that night, or something simliar. I figure for $10, it's nice to have our options wide-open.

Originally, I had thought I'd do what you're suggesting, buy a 5 day pass and just do water parks the other 2 days to save money. But when I realized I'd only save $10 by doing this, it's not worth not having the option to go to a park that day if I want to.
