Park crowd-general rules?

I am trying to decide which park we should visit during our weekend stay. We are going Oct. 21-24 and touring plans says the crowd flow in general is the same between Dl and DCA. Friday night we are doing the Halloween Party. But I was wondering is one park less crowded on Saturday's vs. Sundays. Is WOC more likely to be on Saturday and Sunday night or just Saturday night. I wish park hours were posted already considering I can call make my dining reservations today. Thanks for your help.

A lot of folks, myself included, like to park hop. So instead of picking a park, do both! A favorite strategy is to visit Disneyland in the morning before DCA opens. Then park hop over to DCA when Disneyland starts getting crowded. Repeat as you like.

And I think DCA will have fewer people in it, but keep in mind that because of the construction, some of the walkways are quite a squeeze! :crowded:

WOC is done every night at least once, so don't worry about that.

Have fun! :goodvibes

Pretty much what I would say... :)

Would WOC be less crowded on Sunday night considering it's a school night? Or does it make a difference?

Sunday night, the regular So Cal APers can come to the parks (they are blocked on Saturday).

Do World of Color Fastpasses still run out every day? If so, I would think most shows have more or less the same crowds (though the earlier show of the day may have bigger crowds). If a show outside of Disneyland is "sold out," most seats will be filled, as all the tickets are gone. So theoretically, WoC would be the same way.

That said, a 5% crowd difference might feel significant, so if a few hundred more people than usual at a given show tend not to use their FP, then the effect could be substantial. And if FPs sometimes don't "sell out," then there could very well be days that are more or less crowded.

Not recently. I stopped in last week at about 6:30 and they were giving out yellow for second show. I asked if tehy would give out all the FPs and they said they had not for the last week. So I asked what would happen with red section for the second show and they said it allowed walkups.

Interesting. Thanks!

So IN THEORY the least crowded section could possibly be Yellow at the second show, if not all the Yellow FPs are distributed? Or Red if very few people get Red FPs, and then they let walkups in later maybe?

(Which would be a gamble because of course they could all be given out.)

Interesting! I wonder what percentage of WOC FPs get redeemed? I mean, not everyone is going to use them and it would be useful to know if tourists don't redeem as high of a percentage or local APers.

And I agree it is much easier to get a WOC FP these days. Back in mid July, you could still get FPs well into early evening. That was unheard of last year. My friend and I walked up around 1:30-2pm and got WOC blue. They were still giving out FPs as late as 4pm then. So I am not surprised that in August they aren't even giving them all away. Must be quite a change for those CMs as well!
