Hi. We will be at Disney 12/26-1/1. Do al the parks during that week close due to capacity at one point during the day each day? We will be doing MK, HS and Epcot. My family of four has kids 18 and 22. Im wondering if we do RD at each park, if I can make FPs for the evenings at same park or if we wlnt be able to get back in once we leave.

Thanks.

I would plan on not being able to get back in rather than risking it and being disappointed.

Most of the parks won't reach any phased closures.

Are you guys AP's or staying on site? If so then you'll be able to enter any park during 1-3 phased closure except the last phase when no ones allowed in.

12/31 expect phased closures but VERY RARE for any park to reach full capacity

Yes we are staying at SSR. Thank you. Im wondering what I should do about Epcot and going there for NYE or to DTD. We are from NY so being in the thick of it all isnt that appealing but want some kind of action.

We were there last year from 12-28 to 1-5 so some of the same days you'll be there bt not all the same.
It was mobbed. The Mk was closed whole we were there. i don't know what phase the closure but they had no more space in the parking lot for any more cars so maybe that will give you a flavor. From the back end of the parking lot of the lot to the TTC looked like that must have been a mile. They were redirecting cars to the DHS at one point. I can'y imagine that busses or anything was moving quickly then.
So I would say if you're in a park that hopping would have to be a major hassle.

MK on the 30th for their NYE fireworks, then Epcot for the 31st. I wouldn't pick Disney Springs for New Years over the parks. They don't do too much at Disney springs

Thank you all. Im not interested in hopping but was wondering if we would head back at night. I think maybe we wont go back to a park and use DTD for the evenings so we dont need to deal with busses.

Pa dad, what did you do on NYE and where did you eat during your trip. Can you give me a quick trip report. Did you have kids with you, where did you stay and did you do any parks? We love SSR for DTD so maybe we will just use that at night.

Thanks.

Thanks. I think we really would enjoy Epcot for NYE but I dont want to have to be there in the morning or afternoon just to be there for midnight and I can only imagine how long it will take for us to get back to SSR from there at end of night. Ill ask my family this week but they will do what I say hahahaha

Hi js.
We had our 21 yo twin boys with us on the trip. School breaks and sports schedules made it the only time we could all take a trip so went over new Years even though we knew it would be crowded.
We did 2 days at universal and 4 days at wdw (2 daYS MK, 1 EP AND 1 AK). At universal, we ate at bob marleys and at hard rock. We ate at a few of our favorite off site places and at disney we ate at le cellier and tusker house and harambe market. At Mk we scattered a little and I ate at aloha isle a few times. We lined up for the skipper canteen but decided that the menu didn't look that great and we decided to go offsite instead that night. Considering that we only planned thr trip like 6 weeks in advance, I think we did very well with our dining reservations.

We stayed offsite as we like having a 2 bedroom suite at this point and having the boys on the other side of the room.

NYE- We didn;t do much. Univ City Walk had this thing that was like $200 a person but it just seemed too costly for us to hear some dj music. We had been to disney springs like 2 nights before and we had to park a good mile away at some disney office building and catch some bus so we didn't think that would be a good NYE option.
We did plan on sleeping in a little on New years day so we arrived at the AK about 10 and had our fastpasses timed for that later arrival. I think many people had used that late arrival for that day. We got to do a lot at the ak though seeing most of what we had wanted to.

We were in parks 12/20-12/30 this last Christmas. The only date of our trip we observed a phased closure was on 12/29 at MK. We had no problem hopping into MK from Epcot as on site guests. We did see the crazy line of traffic from Epcot to MK. Those cars were at a stand still. Avoid driving! We found that avoiding MK meant better crowds and lines. We tried to target MK at rope drop, even though it meant getting there at 7:00 am. Evenings were less successful. (Although Christmas was great after 7:00 pm). We used our FP late morning and took breaks at the hotel every day. We had a great time at DHS in the evenings and Epcot as well. Only MK ever struck me as crazy crowded. And it was still glorious!
