Park Bag...what to pack?

Since you're on the dining plan, I would skip packing snacks. We were on the dining plan last year :thumbsup2 and had plenty to eat. We usually used our snack credit for ice cream each day, and didn't need anything else. I had packed some snacks from home, and brought them to the parks the first couple of days, but we never ate them. .

I second that...we went last year as well on the DDP and brought all kinds of snacks because I was sure it wouldn't be enough food. We left with credits left over and most of our snacks packed back up to bring home. Before we went I had read all the reports about how much food it was and I just wouldn't believe it could be true, but it is!!!

On our first day we packed water bottles, a wet washcloth in a ziplock bag, only enough money for the day, sunscreen, bug repelant, camera and baby supplies. I found that I could handle everything except the water bottles. The remaining days we skipped the water bottles and opted to get ice water from all the counter service places. BTW its free and you dont have (as in my case 5) bottles of water to lug.

I agree with this too - we went in May, first time on DDP. We brought a bunch of little snacks and we ended up bringing them home with us. We just don't eat a lot when it is hot so the DDP snacks were quite enough for us. We had DS2 with us (DH and I) so we had a sling diaper bag and my backpack purse, they contained:

2 bottles of water
sippy cup
diapers
wipes
crystal lite packets
the aforementioned snacks (would omit these)
sunscreen
lip balm
digital camera and or digital movie camera (some days did not take both to parks)
antibacterial hand gel
hat for DS
ponchos
wallet
daily plan for park/dinner reservations/etc

We often put one or both bags into stroller basket. Also kept stroller rain cover in stroller basket.

Don't forget the water! It's summer!!

www.purewater2go.com

Pure Water 2GO has a bottle with a filter in it. Just stick it in your bag, and fill it anywhere. Dont have to carry around bottled water or buy expensive water everywhere you go. Water tastes great.

Depending upon the ages of the travelers less is better. If it wont fit into a pocket or my fanny pack then it doesnt go to the parks. Lugging a heavy back pack all day in the hot sun takes it toll on a person.. Remember less is lighter.

Adding to the list snax, and wasclothes to cooloff with and wetones. We will t5ake 2 bookpacks for the 5 of us but plan on putting them in the double stroller.

Don't forget your schedule or ADR list. I also bring 3 x 5 cards that have my shopping list or to do lists on them. It is in a small ziploc and doesn't take up much room.

I find that I vary what goes in the bag each day depending on how long we will be out and what the weather is for the day. At night I bring less but add in small toys or cards to keep them occupied at dinner.

I am having the girls bring their own small waist packs this year with a snack or granola bar, small flashlight, pressed penny money and their own map. The 5 yr old may also have a camera on some days.

Wow, some of you guys carry a lot of stuff!

Well, I guess we brought a lot of stuff as well, back when we would stash it in the stroller. Alas, our stroller days are over now...

I bring my room card and ID, a little cash, sunscreen, lipgloss, sunglasses, ADR notes, a few trading pins, walkie-talkie or cell phone and 89 cent ponchos for all four of us. I have my DH carry the camera since he insisted on buying the big bulky one instead of the sleek one that I liked because it would fit in my bag. I don't need a towel because we don't do the water rides.

Next time I plan on adding some Wet-ones and some moleskin.

I figure everything else I might need is already there - snacks, water, tissues, first aid.

A little cash? sheesh........

Camera
Antibacterial gel or wipes
Tickets
Money
Tylenol
Ponchos

As little as possible.

Sunscreen
Water
Sunglasses/case
Itinerary (or list of ADRs)
passes
Keys to the World
4 protein bars

Camera/film in a separate bag

All should fit nicely in a small backpack for ease and comfort.

No lines if I carry this in my pockets:

room card, AP, Visa card and a little cash
mini-lipgloss
small tube of sunscreen (looks like a lipstick)
couple of tissues
rain poncho from Wal*Mart
sometimes my cell phone

I wear my visor and sunglasses and carry my water on one of the straps they sell. If I buy anything I have it sent back to the resort.
