Park and Fly Detroit?

Does anyone do the Park and Fly out of Detroit? If so where do you stay...anyone recommend the Howard Johnsons?

We used the Park 'n fly out of Detroit this past March and yes we stayed at the Ho Jo BUT never again!!!!! I've stayed in tons of hotels in my lifetime but this one has to be the worst! We stayed there at the end of our vacation as we had a late night flight back from MCO so we didn't get to see the room before we stayed there. The outside of the hotel didn't look too bad but the room we had was disgusting. The tap in the bathtub was running (not dripping ) all night and the heater was falling off of the wall! I was even afraid to get under the covers and didn't fall off to sleep until about 3am and I was the first one up early and wanting to get out of there quick!I didn't even shower as the bathroom was filthy and very old....the whole room was in fact in need of renovating!

We had what was supposed to be breakfast, but that again wasn't anything compared to other places we've stayed.I would never stay there again although yes I would do Park n' fly but not with the Ho Jo!

We stayed in the Ramada once and the Clarion. Both were fine for the night.

We just parked our car at the Detroit Airport and left it there. $8.00 per day. We just walked across the street to the terminal.

We stayed at the Double Tree, got a great deal from our TA. 99 a night! It was fantastic! We will stay there again next year.
A friend of mine stayed at the Quality Inn and was very happy there. They got a continental breakfast and I think it was around 89 a night.

I have booked this hotel for June 16th - looks good and the rate was $99 US
including parking and shuttle.

We did La Quinta, Romulus in Sept06. The QuikPark right next door had a coupon special on their website quikpark.com for the LaQuinta. We paid $89USD. This included 8 nights Parking, free internet & a continental breakfast that was nice -- not just Tang & Donuts. Very nice service. As had been reported on DIS before, we also saw lots of flight staff there -- figure that's a good referral right there!

We needed 1 more night of Parking & the QuikPark would have applied a CAA discount on that extra night for us, but she took my coupon instead that was on their website in Sept for an extra night parking free..

After reading sammi's report, I am so glad we didn't try the HoJo that I dithered over for a long while -- we didn't miss not having the pool at all.
