My family of four with kids ages 6 & 9 are staying at AKL November 13th-17th(midweek).We will be visiting MK and AK on single day passes. I've read that parks with magic hours are much more crowded. I am wondering if this holds true for mid November.Since we will not be able to park hop,we have to choose wisely.
Also any suggestions for affordable activities at DW outside the parks would be appreciated! A disney rookie thanks you!

Welcome to the boards Grace :flower: The month of November can be as crowded as any other month. I don't usually do the extra hours in the am. but I am sure that it would bring in more people than usual. As far as affordable activities in Disney outside of the parks, you can take the children to the nightly campfire and sing along in Fort wilderness. It is free and they show a nightly Disney movie and roast marshmallows around the campfire. You do have to bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the campfire. Fort Wilderness also has some small pets that you can visit in their little zoo.
You can also rent bikes and canoes in FW. You can take them on a monorail ride and get off at each resort and visit the little shops in the Hotels. The Contemporary has a nice arcade with games and prizes they can win with tickets from the games. This was one of my boys favorites when they were younger. Have a great trip! :wave2:

I would not go to AK on an extra magic hours morning. We did this a few years ago and left shortly after arrival because it was so crowded. We came back later in the week when it didn't open early and found it MUCH less crowded. This was in early Oct. and we had no problem with crowds any other time.

Also -- if you have not already bought a guide book, I highly recommend the Unofficial Guide. The advice that you receive will be well worth the price.

Have fun!

I think that riding on the monorail and the boats that go back and forth between MK and the MK resorts is great fun! Plan to have a meal at one of the MK resorts (character meal ....... or, quick service would be much less expensive), spend a little time in the arcade, jump on the monorail and circle around (get off wherever you'd like and explore that resort), jump on any of the boats that go to the MK and/or between the Contemporary and FW and WL. We love to rent the little watersprites, even for 1/2 hour, and explore both the lake in front of MK and the one in back of the Contemporary (sorry, but I keep coming up with things that cost $$$$ ----- the cost MIGHT be around $12 per 1/2 hour for one adult and one child in a boat, but I could be way off track).

Whispering Canyon is a fun place to eat, although lunch is probably much more quiet than bkfst and dinner.

Hope you have a great trip! We LOVE AKL.

Thanks for your info, I am very new at this. I have an Unofficial Guide and itis great, but does not say much about park attendance on days with evening EMHs. Again, since we cannot hop, EMH in evening would give us more time in the parks, but would the crowds be much heavier? Thanks!!
PS no November park schedule is driving me crazy!!
