We did this one Christmas for the MVMCP. I blelieve I remember people getting in earlier than advertised though. But we were there right at the start time for the Party, I think 7:00.
You do not need anything more than your MNSSHP ticket. When we went last October, we could enter the gates around 4:00. We did PS at LTT early (around 5:15) and all of Tomorrowland was opened between 6-7:00 for those attending MNSSHP (they escorted everyone to that area with wristbands). I would highly recommend getting in before 6:00. This way you are "already" well into the park and can beat all the crowds coming in at 7:00. You might even get some rides knocked off, etc.
As was stated you only need the party ticket. The Party ticket will allow you access into MK as early as 4pm. When you arrive they will issue you a wristband. Once the park closes to day guests (6pm) they will ask everyone with wristbands to go to Fantasyland or Tomorrowland (sometimes both) and they will have you wait there (the rides will be open in that land) until the official start time of the party at 7pm or whenever the park is clear of all day guests (which ever comes first). They used to make you wait until 7pm to enter, where they would clear the park entirely then reopen it but with the bag checks/security screening and all the mass entrance at 7pm they made the changes to eliviate some of the congestion at the entrance.
So if you plan to go to MK prior to 4pm you would need a seperate ticket. If you wait until 4pm or later you can get in with just the event ticket
