Paris or DLRP as a base?

Hi all!! So I've spent the better part of the day reading through all the threads in the DLRP section and doing searches to help me plan my trip in Nov/Dec. By the way I learned A LOT today!! Thank you very much everyone for all your helpful tips. I've been taking notes like mad.

My group is flying in from the U.S. and we're planning on spending six nights/seven days in Paris before we leave for London. We're a little torn in our choices for a base camp while in Paris, and we're wondering which of the following we should do:

1. Stay in Paris and take train in daily to DLRP.

2. Split up our stay with three full days in Paris and then transfer to DLRP for the rest.

3. Stay in a DLRP hotel and take train in to Paris.

I really would like any and all opinions, thoughts, or tips. There are pros and cons definitely with each one, but which would you do? Thank you very much!! :wave2:

2. Split up our stay with three full days in Paris and then transfer to DLRP for the rest.

That sounds a good plan really, would give you more time at night to explore both places. I know the train journey is only 40 mins but not having that at the end of a day is welcome.

Are you planning on taking the Eurostar to London? if so you can then easily leave form DLRP.

This is how we do it:

During our DLRP days we stay at one of the 7 Disneyhotels because that is a MUST! It ruins the magic if you have to leave the resort in the evening for your hotel near/in Paris.
And for our Paris days we use one of the Disney selected hotels weather the Kyriad or the Holiday Inn because one room is per night about 74€-78€! A reasonable hotel in Paris starts at 110€ per night. So it is cheaper for us to stay at DLRP and take the RER every day to Paris!

If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of both Paris and DLP then I'd consider staying 3 days in each.
Since you are coming so far I imagine you want to see as much from both places as possible. :goodvibes

Spend the amount of time that you want at each would be my vote. I guess it depends on how much of the "Disney Experience" you want. The commute is okay for a single day visit but going back an forth over multiple times is not worth it. If you are going outside of french holidays you can expect the crowds in the park to be low and you could really see quite a bit in two full days at the park.

Frankly I would spend only two full days at Disney considering your schedule. There are so many amazing things to see and do in Paris that you could easily fill your entire time.

So I would suggest two nights at a disney hotel and the rest in Paris.

I've started a new thread as I'm sure suggestions of what to see and do in Paris will be of interest :)

I agree with a couple of the other suggestions - I would spilt the stay but maybe do 4 nights in Paris, arrive early to DLP on the first day and spend 2 nights there :)

Sounds like a great trip!

Thank you everyone for sharing your thoughts on my travel choices. I had a big meeting today with the people going on the trip and after crunching some numbers, considering what we wanted to see and do, and of course taking into consideration what everyone shared here, we've decided to do option number 2.

I have to admit it's a bit overwhelming planning this trip, but I'm sure that if I put to use everything I've learned on these threads it will be less so as we continue to plan. Thanks again!! :thanks:
