Paris hotel?

In the very, very, early planning stages of a surprise trip for my daughter's 13th birthday (3 yrs away). Would most likely spend a week in Paris with a side trip to DLP for a few days. Can anyone recommend a hotel in Paris that is close to the Eiffel tower, Louvre, etc? And, transportation to DLP would be by train correct? About how long is that train ride? First time for both of us, so any info would be appreciated.....thanks!!

The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre aren't that close together really so you can't stay somewhere that's super close to both.

But we stayed here:

And really liked it. Short walk to the Louvre and has good access to the Metro.

Send me PM and I'll try to help - my partner works in the centre of Paris and has a better idea of the "nice" areas rather than just looking for a cheap hotel. Some are cheap and look convenient, but there are red light areas right by leaving you pretty much having go walk past a few ladies on display in windows! Not a suitable environment for a 13 year old
