Hi ,

We are staying at the Disneyland Hotel for 3 nights in April & considered doing the day trip to Paris from Hotel New York.

Has anyone done this ? If so would you reccommend it ?

Thanks :flower3:

Hi,

Sorry I have never tried a day trip before, but you could read through some of the trip reports here:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=348754

I'm sure somebody has been on one. I have been to Paris before though and if you have the time [even if only for a day trip] it is a really beautiful city, full of character. I'm sure somebody has tried the trip from HNY - good luck

sorry not been on the bus tour,
we went to paris on the RER as it gives more freedom see the things you want and i didn't fancy being on a bus for most of the day stuck in traffic.
The RER is an easy was to get around the city .

You can buy a carte visite in the tourist office or the train station for the whole day.
There was also another card which i forget the name of but someone said they had bought it and it was cheaper.
With the carte visite you get a map of bus/tube routes.
We tried the tube in the morning but got brave and tried the train in the afternoon. The bus is much better as you see things as you travel.

::MickeyMo We are going to DLRP in March 2006. Have decided to go on Evening Tour of Paris (also known as Paris Illuminations Tour), shown in the DLRP brochure, since we didn't want to use up one of our days (and hence not use a days park ticket that we have paid for) by spending the whole day in Paris.

I think the Evening tour is run by Cityrama. It departs 8pm from front of Hotel New York, and lasts approx. 3 - 3 1/2 hrs depending on traffic, so l think that will give 1 1/2 - 2hrs seeing the sights by coach, after deducting the journey into central Paris. Don't know if you get time off the coach, say at the Eiffel Tower. Basically it takes you round the main sights, which are lit up at night and there is commentary via individual headsets. You get dropped off at whichever DLRP Hotel you are staying at.

If you do want to spend the whole day in Paris you could do a coach day trip or like many people seem to do use the RER and metro. Hope this help ::MinnieMo

::MickeyMo Just looked at the DLRP brochure again. Prices as follows: Evening Tour - Adult £31, Child £9. Day tour - Adult £44, Child £22 ::MinnieMo

That's a good tip, especially about not using up a park day ticket :)
