Hello again,

We are coming to dlp next fri! And this forum has been amazing helping me plan! I am wondering if any Parisians or regular visitors can help me with my day trip to Paris? I have searched I the Internet for hours and have found lots of snippets of info but really struggling to put it all together. I know this thread is asking a lot so Keeping my fingers crossed!

I am traveling with hubby and 2 girls 6&4.

Hubby wants to start the day going from dlp to pere lachaise cemetery our plan is to then go to place de la Madeleine for lunchtime ish for a foxity guided tour (thanks jules and carrie) then we hoped to go to the Eiffel tower for about 3 to go up it in the light, eat somewhere close and see the Eiffel tower sparkle after dark then head back to dlp.

We have planned the day to try and cover what we all want to do and not to completely tire out our girls.

Can anyone help me with travel. I can't work out whether the above is possible in one day with travel and when I look at how to get from one place to the other I get seriously confused with the options! Also because we are planning to book online to save money we have to specify what time foxity tour and Eiffel tower visit and I am worried that I will underestimate distance between the places, travelling time, getting lost etc and miss our time slots.

Any advice or help really would be appreciated :-)

RER A from DLP to Nation. Then change at Nation on to the Metro. You want line n°2 direction Charles de Gaulle-Etoile. Get off at Phillipe Auguste station (it's closer to the main entrance than the Père Lachaise stop)and walk to cemetery. Buy a map to see where the main tombs are. They cost around 2€

You can use the interactive map for the RER/Metro system it's very easy to see your routes

You can also do a virtual visit of PL

http://www.pere-lachaise.com/perelachaise.php?lang=en

From there you can
- take the metro at Père Lachaise and you want to be on line 3 direction Pont de Levallois then change at Republique onto line 8 direction Balard and get off at Madeleine

Eta - I see someone has replied faster than me on TA so I'll leave them too it or it could get confusing :rotfl:

Thank you carrie, between you and trip advisor I think I have it covered! Shame I can't buy you a drink - I think I owe you one!
