Are there any you do not approve of and not allow them to watch?
For me it is Chowder and Ed Ed and Eddy.
I just think they are crude and teach him bad things.
I also hate how so many networks have commercials that insinuate how boring school is or how parents are mean.
My son was fine w/ school till a commercial told him how boring it is.

I have a friend that had let her child watch whatever he wanted untill I told her she should sit w/ her son and watch Chowder with him.
The next day at work she thanked me.
I think it is a good idea to pay attention to what our kids are watching.
He may resent me and think I am uncool but I just do not care.:thumbsup2

My son knows I HATE Ed,Ed and Eddie. It is a vulgar, disgusting cartoon. He no longer watches it....at least when I am around! LOL

I just would like to know why the networks are so bent on polluting our children.

I never liked Cow and Chicken. It just did not seem appropriate for children.

Ed, Edd & Eddy was a show that was on while I grew up in the '90s. I wasn't really a fan of cartoon network, though, so I don't really have an opinion on it.

Most of the shows I grew up watching are now cancelled serires, but some of them are still on nickelodeon. (Fairly Odd Parents & - I think - Jimmy Neutron is still running?)

My parents never really limited the shows I watched, unless they were PG13 or R rated and the like.

But, I also can't stand some of the programs that are on TV as well. Not just the cartoons for children that promote hating school, but the shows my friends watch that promote... well... other things.

On the other hand, I had DD watch Reading Rainbow the other day thinking it would be great b/c it's educational. It was educational all right! It was all about some kids whose dad was in jail. It showed the inside of cells & kind of what a day at jail was like. I realize that it's a real world situation, but DD was very confused by it mainly b/c it never told (or she didn't hear) why the dad was in jail.

I am Canadian and I have never heard of any of those shows. I don't allow my kids to watch Spongebob, I can't stand that show.

My kids jump up and turn the channel when Ed, Edd, and Eddie comes on. It is just dumb and not even in a dumb/funny way like Sponge Bob. they know I don't like E, E, and E!

I didn't like E,E and E as well.

Not a cartoon, I have banned Icarly as well. That came about when in the first episode the characters were talking about teacher's mamaries.

I HATE Spongebob. My husband thinks there is nothing wrong with it:confused3 .
I think its rude how they talk to each other, and degrading mostly. When I am here I put on the Disney Channel or Nickoldean in the morning for my 3 1/2 yr old. She still enjoys all the DIsney shows as well as Dora,Diego and those age appropriate shows.

I didn't let my oldest watch Spongebob until she was 5, Rugrats until she was 4. It's a bit harder to police what my youngest watches without punishing my oldest. But I do say no to the Proud Parents, iCarly (not a cartoon), Mr. Meat, and the Naked Brothers Band (after their "I Don't Want To Go To School" song).

I stopped my son from watching Ed, Edd and Eddy when he became Ed. LOL! It was awful!!! Right now at age 12, almost 13 the only things I rule out are family guy and south park. I actually think both are funny but meant for adults.

I HATE EE&E!!

Thanks for providing the opportunity to say that!

I also don't like Fairly Oddparents (makes parents look like idiots), Back to the Barnyard and Tak and the Power of Juju (both too stupid for words), and ICarly and Naked Brothers Band (I hate it when they try to "engineer" mediocre talent into brands and superstars).

There are a few I say NO to. There are actually fewer I say yes too! I never understood why kids need to sit in front of such silly things anyway. My kids watch PBS and Discovery and such. They do watch Jimmy Newtron (Sp?) and one or two more. The newest one they like that I dont see a point to is Finius and Fern (or somethign like that). Is it just a family that hates each other with a mom who doesnt care...? :confused3
What happened to innocent mischeif like Fred Flintstone? It seems like if the cartoons (or characters in general) are not screaming, farting, sneaking, complaining or getting in trouble it isnt made these days.

BANNED:
Ed, Edd & EddyChowder
Couage the Dog (the husband is HATEFUL to the wife)
Cow & Chicken (just gross)
Those shows on Cartoon Netork where characters FIGHT all the time.

Luckily my daughter has discovered Boomerang Network. She loves Smurfs, Snorks, Voltron, Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, etc. She & I often watch these shows together & both just laugh & laugh.

We rarely let the kids watch Cartoon Network. They're under eight, so that may change. This is wierd, but we're ok with SpongeBob but not Fairly Odd Parents.

no ban here either... I do hate spongebob but they like it.. as long as they watch it when I"m not in the room I dont care. (yes bad mommy lets them have tv's in their room)
