Parents - rant

DH is taking is darling cubs to camp this weekend. He has been at the site all day setting up and has arranged for another leader to be the phone contact as he will not be home to get any messages. He wrote to all the parents telling them not to phone our home number today - but by luck I've just found out we've got two messages from parents on the answer phone and have been able to text him. They must think these occassions happen by magic and he'll be by the phone until the last minute.

Mine does that too Libby !! And he has his own t.v. in his bedroom too !!

I know it's not quite the same, Libby, but I always think that when people leave voicemail messages for me at work at the weekend - I sometimes wonder if they think I live there!

There always has to be a couple of parents who never do as they are asked!

ps I thought my son was the only one who likes to bring his X box downstairs, our big screen is much better than his portable he says. He admits that, its not our company he wants, he likes us out of the way!!!

You have to look at it on the parents side as well. Sometimes letters get mislaid or they have forgotten. I am sure people dont do it on purpose and it was a genuine mistake.

i agree, my brain has turned to mush since i had the kids !!

Yes I understand that parents lose things - I know I do. I'm just amazed that they think they'll get him half an hour before the camp is due to start! I'm not allowed to be the home phone contact because I'm related to one of the campers - not that I would want to be after I've had in the past one of the parents being quite rude to me.

Anyway DH phoned earlier and is having a very wet but fun time. DS and I on the other hand went to Tony Romas for lunch and sat by a window watching the rain and enjoyed our meal very much.
