My son is almost 13, 5'7" and weighs about 110 lbs. He has very long legs and a slim waist. I am having an impossible time finding him jeans.

I've been to Kohl's, Penney's, Target, and all the usual places but they are all way too short.

I've tried American Eagle, Aeropostale, and those places but in order to get a 32 inch length (which he really needs), he has to buy a 30 inch waist. Most pants in the men's section will fit him in a 28 inch waist, though they are baggy, but they are just incredibly short.

I don't know where to go at this point.

I did have luck with ONE pair of Mossimo Men's Jeans at Target because, frankly, I think something was wrong with the pants and the 30 length was extra long. I held it up to all the other 30 lengths and they were all short. I keep checking Target to see if they have any more "too long" 30 inch inseams but no more.

Help, my poor kid's walking around in highwaters.

Old Navy. I've had better luck online, but once in a while I stumble on the right size at a store.

My DS is 13. He's 6' 1", 130 pounds and should wear a 28-34. I usually end up buying a 30-34 and make him wear a belt.

Oh man, and I thought *I* had a tough time. That is TALL!!

I get my DS13 clothes from Penney's. He wears a 30x32 pants. His waist is 29 as well, so he just wears a belt. At this age, one inch doesn't matter too much in the waistline as they're gonna fill it out anyway.

He's always been freakishly tall, but I think (hope) that he won't grow too much more. He's already taller than anyone on either side of the family. His doc thinks he'll stall out at about 6' 4".

He's SO skinny because he never has a chance to gain any weight.

You're probably going to have better luck online. My dh and brother are only 6'2", and I only have minimal luck finding pants for them in stores. I usually end up shopping online at AE or Old Navy. They do let you return to the store if they don't fit, which is good. I'll have my dh ask my bil where he gets his jeans - he's really thin and 6'4".

Oh my !!
My DS is 13...he just had a physical, and he is 4'6" and 69lbs.
I knew he was kinda small, but in comparison to some of the boys around here, he's downright tiny !!

I have a very different problem....He wants jeans from aeropostale or hollister, but he still gets his jeans in the childrens' dept. !!:rotfl:

Levi's makes some boys jeans up to 20S but that's only a 30" inseam. DS just moved into 14S and that's 25x27.

OK, did some searching and Levi's makes men's 512's in 28x30 and 28x32. Does that help? Denim Express looks to have good selection of this and decent pricing but I have no personal experience w/ them. Also Amazon has 511's in same sizing, don't know the difference between styles tho. I goggled "mens slim jeans" and got a few hits.

Let me know what you find - I think our needs may mirror yours, just a little later. My DS is a similar age and 5' 80 lbs, but he's not hit puberty or the big boy growth spurt yet and his dad is 6'2"

I have the same problem. My son is 5' 8" or so and about 115. He wears Arizonas in a 30/32 and has to wear a belt.

501's would be a good solution, but I don't know if they are in style for teen boys ? :confused3

My husband says to buy him good ol' Wranglers, but no way would S17 ( he wasn't being very dear today:rolleyes: ) would wear them!

I'm sure Lands End is not "cool" enough, but maybe for jeans, it might be okay if they fit.

They had all size waists, even the odd numbers...My DH is a 33...32 is too small and 34 is too baggy and he's short...he needs a 29 inch inseam to be perfect. I order all his jeans and pants from LLBean or Lands End because I know you can choose which inseam and which waist.

But DH is also 34 and just wants jeans that fit..."cool" doesn't really play into the equation for him. So I acknowledge that this might not fly with a teen who may be picky about what he wears.

Do you have a Pac Sun by you? My son (5'5", ~120) will only wear Bullhead jeans from them, and occasionally jeans from American Eagle (they have size 26 waist there, though my son has moved onto 28's now).

I can't believe I fit into this group now. My son turned 13 in August. :scared1:

He is about 5'4" and 100 pounds. He is a cross country runner, so he is tall and lanky. He has always been extremely skinny and hard to buy pants for - he has no hips. If I could only have that problem!! :rotfl: Anyway, I still buy his jeans at Target in the boys' section. He still (barely) fits in the boys' 16 slim. They are right for length (for now), but they are still too big in the waist. Thankfully, they make an adjustable waist. He just cinches them in and wears a belt.

I have no clue what I'm going to do once he is too tall for those. :sad2:

My son wears a 29-32. He buys most of his jeans at Hollister. He wants his jeans to have a flare, or actually more of a "bell-bottom". The salesclerk at Gap suggested he try the "Long and Lean" jeans from the ladies dept. He did buy some and actually likes them. Other than knowing which dept. they came from, you can't tell a difference. Of course, my DS is 23 and isn't bothered by it now, but as a teeneager, I don't know if he would have considered wearing a pair of jeans from the girls dept. His girlfriend bought him his last pair, so she must not be too bothered by it either.

(BTW, he wears an 8 or a 10 Long in Gap Long & Lean jeans.)

My DS is also 13, 5'7" and about 105 pounds. I have the hardest time, as well!! I have found that The Gap online is the way to go. I discovered that Old Navy no longer carries the adjustable waistbands in boy sizes past size 12 I think, in the store. Gap also carries adjustable waistbands but only up to a certain size in the store. DS has some 16Slims that I found online with all the tears and cool denim. They have an adjustable waistband, too. Without that waistband his pants would fall off! He wears his shirts untucked so it's not a big deal. He also wears a uniform for school and I was able to order Khaki pants and shorts in a 16Slim at The Gap online, too. You can also take any returns to the store.

Hope that helps! I'm about to order some 18 Slims!!
:)

I know you already tried Kohls but my son is exactly the size of your DS maybe a tiny bit taller and we were able to find some jeans that fit there. I swear the boy tried on every pair of jeans in the place and we found some Levis that worked great. I believe they are 30 in the length. Cant think of the waist, I know the skinny kid wears a belt most days.

Good luck, let me know where you end up finding some. I may just have to order online to be shipped here.

DS15 wears a 29x32. They are a little long, but he convinced the 30 length is too short. We get the ones at Aeropostale. Benton or Bowery, original boot cut.

Believe it or not my youngest DS never wore jeans until he went to college. All through school it was cords/wind pants/sweats/dockers but never ever jeans.....now of course 4 years later he basically lives 24/7 in jeans. :rolleyes1

I have been buying his jeans in EXPRESS...they are a tad bit costly but they do last a long time.

When DS#1 was in jr. hi and sr. hi, I bought his jeans at Gap/Old Navy/A&F!!
