I just found this reading club for preschoolers, I was wondering if anyone had tried it and if they liked it for their kids. From what I read it is a twice a month magazine that comes to the preschooler for them to read. The magazine looks interesting I just was wondering if anyone had tried them.
Here is the website:

It looks interesting! I think my daughter would enjoy it and it would give us time reading something that personally came to her. She will be starting to read this year. As a teacher myself, I took a look at the sample. I like that the pictures really do match the print. The part I hesitate on is that a beginning to read book should have more repetition in it. Like, the pages should have a repetition of language patterns from one page to the next and familiar words should be repeated more. If your child's already reading, I think it would be great! And, of course, any motivation to read that gets a child excited is huge. I think getting this in the mail twice a month with the child's name on it would be very motivating. I wonder about the physical quality of the book/paper. Anybody seen these in real life? ceiligh1, thanks for sharing this info!

Your welcome. :thumbsup2
I wonder about the paper as well as my son loves to rip. It would be a little old for him but I think the pictures would be appealing to him. I like that they seem to have the ability to refund if you dont like the product.
I am going to have to think on it a little more but I might just give it a try.

If you do end up getting it could you please let us know what you think?
TIA.

We've had the Tessy & Tab magazines in our house and they are much sturdier than they look. Been through 2 kids and still holding up -- now our 1.5 year old is beginning to carry them around and browse through the pictures!

The paper is definitely thicker than regular magazine but not as thick as Baby Bug (which feels too thick to me!) or a board book and difficult to rip. They are super convenient to carry around because they are so light and compact -- the kids liked to bring a set of them in the car or take them on trips. Much lighter than a few board books for sure!

The interesting thing about the words on the pages is that you aren't really supposed to read them but let the kids tell their own story from the pictures. Only now, as my daughter has begun to sound out words is she really looking at them on the page. She is able to figure out the harder words because of what she sees in the picture.

Anyway, they were a big hit in our house. I've given subscriptions to many of my friends and its amazing how all the kids just love their own magazine.
