Oh, I can take NO credit for anything even remotely creative!! If they hadn't shown us examples at our last Aggie Mom Club meeting, I would have never in a million years thought of the bottle thing, or the pumpkin, or any of it, lol. But I'm good at following explicit directions!
Then they said you just tuck the handle in, tape the top up, and mail it! We're having fun now, thinking of future holidays and what all we can send.
Nope, nothing special -- it's just your basic plastic trick-or-treat pumpkin. I picked mine up at Walmart for $1. And we'll put mostly candy, but also a few little silly fun things in there.
They'll have the coolest pumpkins on campus! I'm having that sent straight to him since it'll be too big to cram into the pumpkin.
Yep, just seal it up with clear tape and mail it as-is! The mom showing us said she mailed one to each of her two kids every Halloween, and now that her daughter has been out and in the working world for several years she still sends her one at work. She said her daughter would kill her if she ever stopped -- lol -- both kids still really look forward to it.
Walgreen's has so much cute Disney stuff every Christmas -- I'm hoping to find another mini Christmas tree with little Mickey ornaments on it and send that after Thanksgiving! That one will be in a box, though.

My daughter joined a sorority this fall. I paid 975.00 for the semester dues. From what I understand from my daughter, this includes initial national fees,chapter room rental, all activities and socials (except t-shirts). The dues go down each subsequent year, where freshman year is the most expensive. She was told that by senior year dues will be just a couple hundred of dollars. All sororities are on campus, have a chapter room and housing. I know on some campuses that dues include a meal plan. We had an understanding that she would pay for sorority dues when she went through recruitment. When I saw that she was committed to the sorority life, I stepped in and offered to pay for the first year.
One advantage to sororities is academic. They expect you to have a good gpa, have mandatory study hours and have a test vault to review old tests. My daughter's big sister is the tutor rep for her World History class. She aced her first test.
