Parent's night out

We will be staying at the Contemporary in November and DH and I hope to treat ourselves to one night without our DD's (ages 5 & 7). I think the kids would prefer a "club" over a babysitter in the room. I doubt we will be able to steal away for more than two or three hours. What is a good plan? Should we sign them up for the club at the Contemporary and eat at either the Concourse Steakhouse or CA Grille? Or would it be more fun (either for the kids or us) to explore a different resort kids club and a restaurant at that resort. Which would you recommend? We don't have any interest in Pleasure Island. We've been there and we are not really nightclub people.

We used the kids club at the contemporary in Dec and had dinner at CG. It worked out great for us. Even though our kids 10 & 6 are a little older than yours we liked being in the same building if there was a problem. The children had fun and we got a few hours for a nice dinner.

Visiting another resort might be nice , but if the kids get tired you are right there and can just take them to the room. DS played video games the whole time. DD had a book and watched TV and read. Dinner for the kids is included in the price.

When it came time for our dessert ,we got the kids and had them join us. They have this real cool gummy worm with rice krisppy treat that the DS loved.

I think there is a kids club at the YC and then you have all kinds of choices for where to eat .
you could take a walk on boardwalk after if you have time.

It could be a real pain to get back from the YC to the Contemporary!!

Unless you'll have a car, here's another vote for the california grill.

I am ah, 30 something, wow, almost 40 something and I was going to see if my wife would take our two children and let me spend the evening at the neverland club at the Poly. Our kids loved it. It is amazing, it resembles Peter Pan's story and you enter through a window and get sprinkled with pixi dust upon entering. The Ship is cool the video arcade is neat and everything is to cool!!

Am I really going to be 40, no 39.

When we did this, we didn't go for a full sit down meal, but dropped the kids off (we were staying at the Poly so used the Neverland Club, but you could do this at the Contemporary's kid's club), then had some "quiet" time alone. Later, we went to the Tambu Lounge (or the Concourse or California Grill, in your case) and sat at the bar, ordered appetizers and fancy-shmancy drinks - and totally enjoyed being adults!

Both adults and kids had a great night!

I would have the kids in the club at CR - it is the easiest option for you and probably the least worrisome as well. Then you can go decide where to go dinner. Between the Concourse Steakhouse and CG, I would pick CG for that adults only dinner

Good luck to you with whatever you decide! I would also vote for dinner nearby - "just in case". We will be trying this our next trip in June. The beginning of our trip we will be at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and we have the kids set to go to Simba's Cubhouse while DH & I have dinner at Boma's. DD was 4 in January and is now old enough for the daycare. DS is 8 and will be fine. This will be a first for DH & I and we are really looking forward to a few hours alone at WDW!

I think the kid's club at BWI/BWV was shut down and the closest one is at BC/BCV

We have also used the Neverland Club at the Polynesian. The kids loved it. They are now 21 and 17 and they still talk about what a good time they had. They played video games, had a kids dinner, and got their picture taken with Goofy(he came in after dinner). They also had a person to bring in a few animals so that the children could see and touch them. I don't reember what they were. The kids are still in the bed or I would ask them. If my young ones were going again, I would send a camera in with them so they could get some pictures to remember it by. They had so much fun and they only have the one picture with Goofy to look at from then.
They also have O'hana's there to eat at. There might be other places but I can't remember.

ImagineEar--- you do not have to be a guest of the resort to use the kid's clubs. When we made reservations it was on the spur of the moment so it was the same day. This was a good 10-12 years ago though. You might want to call ahead.

ImagineEar, kids have to be 4 or older. Looks like you will need to get in room sitting or bring the baby with you.

We booked an in room sitter through fairy godmothers. I think we booked about 1 month in advance, but for a Sunday night during the off season. I haven't used the new service Disney suggests, kids night out.
