Parents, do you dress up your little darlings for Easter?

They have the cutest Easter clothes in the stores now. Beautiful dresses with matching hats and gloves. And the smartest looking suits for that young man in your life.

But I wonder, do people still get dressed up for Easter?

No I don't. The easter clothes they have for boys aren't really our style. My boys will just wear khaki pants and a nice shirt.

I did big time until they were like 4 or 5, although with DD it was longer.

I always have. We go to church every week but like to get especially dressed up for Easter. I must say that I have always found it extremely frustrating to see racks and racks of beautiful girl clothes and one small rack of boy clothes. It's like the buyers don't think the moms want to dress their boys cute. I dread when DS9 finally wears a size 8 because thpse clothes all seem so bummy. I'm having the same issue with DD6 - she is moving into a size7 and it is hard to find character clothes - she is still only in Kindergarten and not overweight - just very tall. She likes to wear Princess and Barbie clothes and they are getting very difficult to find.

We do. the girls love it. Last two easter's they wore teh same dress. I'd have them wear it again but it is showing age as they wear them all the time. This year I'm letting them get extra fancied up b/c they have fancy dresses from a wedding that my oldest was in and the youngest I found a similar style dress on clearance. So this year they will be extra fancy.

My DD LOOOOVES frilly dresses so she's all into the Easter outfits. As a matter of fact the pink poofy number is hanging on her closet door as we speak. I do have to say she looks adorable in it :cutie: .

Awww, everyone will have to take pics and post them. I just love seeing little kids all dressed up with their Easter basket in hand. Maybe an Easter bonnet? :goodvibes

I agree with the comment about the boys clothes. Hard to find nice clothes that are not too fussy.

Now my daughters are usually dressed in concert black as they play in church orchestras for Easter. When they were young children we didn't dress them up for church because they were there through 3 services and we wanted them comfortable. You could always tell whose parents were in the choir this way. :) WHat we did do was change them into their fancy dresses before going out to eat with the grandparents.

Not usually because they never wear them again. This year though the girls are wearing the dresses they wore for my sister's wedding last week. I need to get my moneys worth LOL. DS will probably just wear khaki's.

I do usually buythem a new outfit, but something that they'll get use out of

Nope, my DD's will be wearing jeans and t-shirts on Easter, everyday clothes. I find it pointless to dress them up since we dont do anything special for Easter, except got to church if DH is in town, which at church they would wear a normal everyday dress in thier closet.

I dress my princes up in the cutest clothes, not suits though because I don't think they'd be comfortable. I'm careful with the fabrics I choose in dress up clothes so it isn't itchy. But the little boy outfits can be so cool looking putting the right look together.

My boys wear broadcloth pants, usually khaki, button-down or polo-style shirts, sweater vests, and dress shoes.

I enjoy dressing them in similar styles/colors.........but not the same, they are too far apart!

This is the time of year when I wish I also had a little girl to dress. My luck and I'd have one who wouldn't wear a dress, little hat and gloves.

Only when they were small and had no say....:rotfl2: Now? Forget it!

Yep...2 dd's here. They do not do their hair, no dresses, no makeup, hairbows...NOTHING! aaaaccckkk!

I do! I have 3 DD's young enough to still find it fun to dress alike. The challenge now is finding matching dresses & hats in all 3 sizes ranging from 7/8 to 18 months...
I told DH if he didn't like the expense, he should've given me boys! :teeth: Nah, I would just dress them alike too for Easter... :thumbsup2

I dress mine up for Easter.

DS11 wears a suit. He will get a lot of use out of it with Cotillion coming up.

My DD9 loves to wear a hat, gloves, and a beautiful dress. I try to match her dress with her younger brother. This may be her last year wearing a hair bow. :( Several of her church friends still wear them every Sunday.

My DS3 will wear a Polo with a sweater vest, shorts and bucks.

I always buy the girls a new dress for Easter. They love to get dressed up!! :goodvibes

I dress the kids up for church. By the time the family get-together starts, though, they are dressed in "normal" clothes. They want to be able to run around and play with their cousins without being restricted and that is fine with me! But I liked dressing them for church--and it makes all the older people ohh and ahh!! I've always said that if dressing my kids up can make these people so happy, we can manage to do it a few times a year!!

I dress my DD - frilly dress, hat, gloves and matching little purse. She loves it!! In fact, one year she loved her Easter outfit so much she would wear it all the time - church (of course), shopping, meals out..... You get the point. Of course she was 4 and could get away with it. :rotfl:

I've already bought DD three easter dresses this year because I can't make up my mind! It's her first Easter, though, so that's my excuse to DH. We go to church every Sunday so whatever she doesn't wear for Easter she'll wear some other Sunday.
