Parent Swap and Fastpass

I just read another thread and am all confused now. What is Parent Swap? It seemed as if there is a Baby Swap and a Parent Swap which are different? We are traveling with a 20-month old so he can't ride a lot of rides.

What is the best strategy?

you and your dh get in line with your child. When its your turn to ride, one of you will be shown the way to where the ride ends with your child. The other will ride. You will meed up at the end of the ride where you will swap places, the adult who waited would now ride, and the one who rode will now wait.

When my dh and I did this fast past did not exist, but I sure it works the same way, you just get to the head of the ride faster with a fastpast.

I'm assuming that baby swap and parent swap are the same, just using different names.

Baby swap is awesome.You go up to a CM at the ride, tell him that you need to do baby Swap.The CM will give you a ticket good for you and two more people.One of you ride the ride and then the other takes that ticket and goes through the Fastpass line.My other kids loved it because they took turns riding the rides twice.Hope I explained that well enough.Remember CMs will always answer any questions you have.Just ask.

my 10-yo loves the child swap. His sister, who is 7 will usually get too scared to ride Space Mt., etc so when we do the switch-off dad and son ride while mom and little sister waits ... then mom gets to ride and son gets to ride it again....he loves this plan. He gets to ride twice !! Won't work for him much longer, though little sister is getting braver.

NOPE, it no longer works like this, but it still works very well, bettter, I think.

es baby swap and parent swap are the same thing and to confuse things even more its now called "rider switch" IIRC.

When you want to ride and use "babyswap" - either get a FP for those who want to ride and return during the ride time and enter the FP line or just enter the standby line. Either way before entering either line tell the CM you want to use the "baby swap" feature and they will give you a "rider switch" ticket. The rider switch ticket looks and acts similar to a FP, it is good for that attraction only and valid for 3 people at any time that day. The baby/toddler/child who isn't able to ride must be present to get the rider sitch ticket. You won't get one if mom is off changing a diaper, unfortunately.

Then, the first party stays in line and rides - as many as have fast passes or are willing to wait the standby line, while the others can do other things. I usually take the little ones to a show or ride they liked, or get an ice cream treat while waiting. DH and I would have a predetermined time and or place to meet or cell phones to do such.

Then, anytime that day the other parent and two others can ride the attraction using the FP line with the "rider switch" ticket.

We uses the baby swap this past summer. It was great b/c up to 4 people could ride on the next trip. We used this on ToT, RnR, and Soarin'. It was great.
