Parent jobs.

What do your parents do for a living? Grandparents? Aunts, uncles, cousins?

(It was a thread on the CB a couple days ago.)

Mom - Case worker for the government.
Dad - Does stuff with machines. I try my hardest to understand it but it all just goes right over my head.
Grandma - Always been a SAHM.
Aunt - SAHM and a former case worker who now has a part-time job at WalMart.
Cousin (Brad) - Works in a manufactoring plant.
Cousin (Stacy) - Part time job making fancy donuts and also a SAHM caring for her 5 month old.

Has any of this affected what you want to do for a living?

My mom has been self-employed for as long as I can remember, but I have no clue what she is self-employed to do. Something important though.
My dad, before he died, was a carpenter.
My grandma was a SAHM and a ceramic artist, owning her own ceramic shop.
My Papa was an Aeronautical Engineer, and monitored the satellites on earth to make sure they were in coordination with the satellites in space. He traveled to every continent on the globe, and had lived in over 35 countries in his lifetime.
My aunt is a private school teacher who teaches children of movie stars.

I want to work in the music industry as an A&R rep or be a paralegal, so they don't really influence me.

I actually can't tell you what my father does. He's some sort of District Manager at his place of work.

My mother works at a inbound call center for a bank.

My grandfather (now deceased) used to own a grocery store up north.

My grandfather.. I don't know what he did. All I know, is he tells me that I'll never make as much money as he did in his work life.

Mom is SAHM, but I think she has an ebay store.
Aunt is a SAHM with her daycare at home.
Grandma has a daycare.
...I really don't know where everyone else works.
In a factory place or something.

Dad- Army guy

Aunt - Same as my mother
Uncle - IDK he works at home.
Uncle - He works for a radio station doing commercials and stuff I think.
Uncle - He buys cars, fixes them up, and sells them.
Aunt - She works for Mary Kay I think..
Uncle - Security guard and volunteer fire fighter (obvs he doesn't do that for his living, but whatever)
Aunt - No idea. I think she's too ill to work.

And my brother works in the Chamber of Commons as a page.

Dad: X-ray Tech.

Mom: Stay at home mom.
My mom's side of the family:
Babby (mom's dad): Is retired now, was in the Air Force for 20 years and then worked as a property appraiser for 20 years.
Mammy (mom's mom): Was a stay at home mom.
Uncle: Elementary school principal
Uncle: Owns an A/C business
Aunt: Stay at home mentally ill crazy cat person who never leaves her house. I think she may take refuge in her bathroom someday.
Cousin #1: A purchaser for the county.
Cousin #2: Has money, but also works at the mall.
Cousin #3: Works at Chilis as a waitress and lives at Babby's house but stays over at my house all the time.

My dad's side of the family:
Dad's dad: Land surveryor.
Dad's mom: I think she just collects rich husbands that are about to die, and takes their houses. And she collects dogs, too.
Dad's sister: I have no idea.

I guess this has some sort influence on what I want to do. I DO NOT want to be a SAHM. At all. I want to be a zoologist specializing in big cats, and I always have.

I dont know, all I know is that its top secret, to an extent. Im not allowed to know the entire story, so whenever Its "take your child to work day" its very awkward...


As for me mom..i dunno..either.

I had the urge to lie and say that my dad worked for the FBI and that my mom was a nurse, and that the rest of my family did awesome things like base jumping and DNA research.

Dad- A vice president at Merrill Lynch. I know he works with mainframe computers, but past that, I'm kinda oblivious.
Mom- Stay at home mom.
Paternal grandfather (deceased)- Homicide detective for NYPD. Like the guys on Law & Order :]
Maternal grandfather (deceased)- First a mailman, then some high ranking Army official.
Uncle 1- Some high ranking official at Quest, a lab, but he's transfering to a new company. It's a HUGE promotion, but now he has, like, a 4 hour commute. Catch 22, I guess.
Uncle 2- Owns a shipping country, with his wife.
Aunt 1- (look up) :]
Uncle 3- Chef-in-training
Aunt 2- ER nurse
Uncle 4- Does something in a hospital, not sure what. But wants to teach inner-city kids.
Aunt 3- Volunteers at a suicide prevention hotline.
Cousin 1- Learning specialist, works specifically in Autism research and hands on with severely Autistic kids.
Cousin 2- Professional chef.
Cousin 3- Moves EVERYWHERE, I think she's in New Zeleand at the moment. Usually bartends.

And I'm not quite sure what the rest of my family does...

Mom- Owns her own CPA buissness (Cant wait till April 15th yeah!!!!)
Dad- One of the top managers at Boeing and is on the new 787 Dreamliner airplane
Brother- Too lazy to find a job
Me- Too young to find a job
Grandma(dads side)- Used to own some McDonalds in Oregon(retired)
Grandpa(dads side)- Was a former science teacher (retired)
Uncle- Famous wood maker whos work is in lots of magazines (he made a awesome book shelf which is at my grandmas and its so bigs theres and lader with it and its in lots of woodmaking magazines lol)
Aunt- Speech Therapist
Grandma(moms side)- Owns a Electronic store in Oregon and also a Beauty shop
Grandpa(moms side)- Helps Grandma run all of her shops
Uncle- Works with men in prison who are drugs actics and takes them to court to help them get through the process if they loose there kids
Aunt- Same thing except with Women
Cousins- 4 are too young to get a job then the ones that are the same age as my brother are too lazy... then not sure about the rest

Father: He's a manager of this thing, but I don't think I can say what so I'm not gunna.
Mother: She's a photographer.
Rest of the family: Don't know and don't care. I'm not too close to my extended family, if you can't tell. I do know that my fathers cousin (making her my first cousin) is a singer and has her own recording studio....but I'm not saying who she is because...yeah, I made the mistake of doing that once and I'm not doing it again. *likes turning all her cds backwards when she sees them in stores*.

My mum is an office worker within the NHS. I don't know what she actually does or what her title is because they just changed practically everthing.
My dad is also an office worker in the NHS, i don't know what he does either. When i went to work with him the one day all he did was sit at a computer typing in numbers. It's not glamorous but it does mean that they have very strong opinion whenever the NHS is on the news.

My nan worked in some sort of factory, she wanted to be a PE teacher but her dad wouldn't let her stay on at school.
My bampy was a geography teacher.
My uncle works in an insurance company.

Sadly that is all i know.

Mom - First Grade Teacher.
Dad - Computer programmer (that's where my knowledge ends).
Grandpa - Teaches people how to program computers.

I don't think either of their jobs really effected my decision of what I want to be. (I fail to see how you get doctor from these three things)

Dad-news reporter
Aunt (Sharon)-manages a (I think) pharmaceutical company
Cousin (Liz)-works in real estate
Cousin (Jeff)-he's still in college, but he's also a girl's lacrosse coach
Cousin (Joe)-in the army, stationed in Japan right now

And no, this hasn't effected what I want to do for a living. Everyone says I should be a reporter like my dad, and I really don't want to be.

Mom - She quit her job to take care of me after my cancer diagnosis. But she also acted as a nurse, and might go to nursing school now to get a degree. (Basically a nurse without the degree). Before that she worked in the school cafeteria (lunch lady)
Dad - Some kind of water testing person. He collects water samples, tests them, and treats them.

Dad's Mom - IDK. I think she was a SAHM.
Dad's Dad - Worked with RCA.
Mom's Mom - Seamstress.
Mom's Dad - Worked with trains.

The rest of the family, IDK. A lot of them didn't go to college so they're stay at home parents or they work odd jobs.

My aunt was a family lawyer, but she passed away.
My other grandpa owns a pasta company.
My uncle works with my grandpa.
