How old do you have to be to Parasail on Castaway Cay? Is there a weight min or max? Do you go alone or can more thatn one person go up at a time? Anyone who has done this I would love to hear your experiences?
Thanks

well acording to DCL you must be at least 90 lbs and no more then i think it was 250 lbd. also you have to be at least 9 years old. my DW is doing it on our july 31 3 day Wonder trip

According to the Shore Excursion booklet from DCL these are the requirements:

"Guests must be at least 8 years old and weigh more than 90 lbs., but not exceed 375 lbs. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult."

My DD and I are doing the parasailing together next month, since she is under 13.

Wow Ok My 8 year old only weighs 48 lbs so I guess that is out .Thanks for the info.

375lbs...I dont think the BF and myself exceed this...I really want to do this -but would like it to be something that we do together...I can't imagine not having him up there with me to enjoy this!
However, here's a question-how far do disposable cameras reach as far as view? Will disney staff take pictures with our camera? Or will they have shutters people on the boat for pictures?
Thanks!

Our disposable camera worked fine. You really arent up that high. It is a beautiful view. There was no one on the boat taking professional pictures but Im sure even if the parasailing people wouldnt do it, you could ask another cruiser to take a few.
And a word of warning...be prepared that you may need to go up alone. :( I had my heart set on going up with DH and we made the limit no problem. I even double checked when we booked it because I did not want to do it separately. But when we arrived on the boat they told us due to weather conditions(light wind), we couldnt go up together. They even had a 12 year old girl go up alone. The final decision is made out there that day, so be prepared for the worst, just in case.

My two DSs each went up alone and were the only ones on their boat to go solo. Younger DS said he went up rather quickly becasue he was probably the lightest. They really enjoyed it. (still need to get their pix developed!)

My 8 year old son and 16 year old daughter did it along with me this past Friday at CC. They were both lucky enough to go twice due to the makeup of the passengers and the need for weight. It was better than I expected; both kids enjoyed it too (especially when they were "dunked" in the water - only waist deep). Take a camera up there, the views are fantastic.

Do they give you the option to cancel your parasailing if you can't go up together? This is supposed to be a romantic trip for us, so if we can't go together, we'd rather do something else and try again at WDW or the next time we cruise.

Nope! I felt the exact same way and I was really disappointed. In fact I was bummed that I was stuck out on that boat for an hour, and wished we just didnt go...Then I went up!!! I have to say it was a really great experience, even alone. I think it would have been nicer to do together, but I am glad that I did it.

DW and I parasailed during the 7/6 Wonder four-day. Last boat of the day and we had a blast! Went up separately (DW is a scrapbooker and wanted pictures of each of us going up)...I got some great shots of the Wonder while airborne (and while on the boat when others went up). Great Photo Op!Wonder from Air and Wonder from Water

Verandah Man - Thanks for the kind words. Tony - Great pictures! It is very difficult to describe in words - photos definitely give you a sense of the exhiliration you feel. What's so amazing is the solitude and the quiet...I need to do that about once a week :-)

I called to find out about the minimum weight limit since I might go with my 9 year old and he does not meet the required weight. I was told that if we go together it is the combined weight and that he could go parasailing if I’m (or someone else) is with him and the weight is within then he can go. Hope this helps.

Thaks Pickles61 That is what I hoped. My dd is way under the min however together we fall within.I would love to be able to do this. I guess we will see when we get there.
BTW we are neighbors-I live in Hazlet.
