Has anyone ever done the parasailing at the Contemporary? It's under I guess new private management. Birnbaum's says the prices are $75/single, $115/double, but it might have changed. I also don't know if you have to pay when you make your reservation?

Is it worth it?

Thanks

My son and his girlfriend did this last July 2004. It's run by the Sammy DuVal organization and it was $135 for two people, I believe it was about $149 after taxes and such. They loved it. You leave from the contemporary and were with two other couples on the boat. Each person or couple gets their "air" time about 10 minutes I believe. My son said it was the most fun he had during the whole vacation. You make a reservation and then they charge you at the time of the reservation. I believe you have to give a CC numbert though because if you don't cancel you get charged anyway.

Please, please heed this warning, don't go on a full stomach.
My husband and I did right after eating at Cinderella's, and man, was that a mistake...

Does anyone know if there's a minimum age, weight, or height for parasailing? My kids are dying to do it. They're 11 & 13 and would go tandem. DS13 wouldn't be an issue (5'4", 95 lbs.), but I wonder about DD11: 4'7", 70 lbs.

TIA
Kelley

My DS(6) and I did this tandem. The requirement was the two together have to weigh at least 150 lbs. It was a great adventure. They organization was well run. It had rained and rained and so I thought I was going to have to cancel and did. But then an hour before our time came up it stopped raining and was just cloudy so they got us in. I would highly recomend them

The minimum weight is something b/w 100-120 for a single ride. Your kids could do a tandem flight.

I can't speak for Sammy Duval's, but I have done parasailing at other places and 70 lbs should be fine. You may want to ask when making the ressie just to be safe.

If anyone has never done it, but can afford it...DO IT! It is a blast.

Here is the number for the Sammy Duval counter at the Contemporary Marina - 407-939-0754

They should be able to give you the most up to date info and prices.
