Parasailing at Contemporary

I'm thinking of finally doing something I've always wanted to do...parasail , while on our next trip to WDW. Are you allowed to take a camcorder up with you? I think it would be cool to tape the experience so family can watch it and get a feel for the view from above. Also, I'm going to attempt to schedule this for around 3:30pm (we're arriving in FLA that day) and then hit MK afterwards. Would we be able to leave our vehicle at the Contemporary and just hop on the monorail there?

You can leave your car if you have a reason to be there. Whenever I have dinner plans at the resorts I am able to park for no problem, so I would think it would be the same for activities onsite.

I did this in December and it was so much fun. I took a disposable camera because I was afraid I might drop my good camera, but it was so smooth that I don't see why you couldn't take a camcorder(providing it's a small one). I expected to be nervous and need to hold on to the harness, so I tucked my camera in the front of the life jacket, but took it out, on the way up-a fun birthday treat!

This is a birthday treat for myself as well. I guess I'll try going w/my camcorder. I'll make sure I add a wrist strap so that if it does slip out of my hands its not sitting at the bottom of Seven Seas Lagoon. But it does seem like it would be real smooth.

Also, you can go up 450 ft. or 600 ft. and because it was my birthday and I have always had a fear of heights, I decided to "get over it" and go for 600 ft. It was beautiful and I never felt unsafe. One more thing crossed off my "Bucket list". I try to do at least one new thing each year......have fun.

When I went parasailing in the fall, they told us no cameras. I think it is partly because they don't want to be responsible if you drop, but also because they sell a roll of 12 pictures that they take for you. It is reasonable, I think $12 or so. You can leave the camcorder in the boat if they say no.
Also as to the 600-450 feet, we were going to go 600 but in watching the boat before us, we saw that the extra 150' wasn't going higher by nearly that much. I think depending on the winds, most of the extra feet can be how far you are behind the boat. We decided to save the money.

I took my disposable camera up with me and the girl on the deck of the boat took pictures, for me, with my digital camera. They did sell pictures, also, because one of the people I was with didn't have a camera, so he bought them, but they didn't care if you used your own. If you're not sure, just ask when you call for reservations.

Have done this and love it.

If your trip is during the summer months, I'd suggest going in the morning when there are fewer chances of the weather getting in the way.
