Well I ordered my 5 day park hopper plus tickets last night from paramountinternationaltravel.com but when it was all done, it said I must fax a letter of authorization. I wonder why this is, I have ordered so many things online with my credit card and have never had to do this.

Also, on the authorization letter it says to take a copy of the front and back of your credit card and fax it along with the letter. Now this is EXTREMELY outrageous to me......when I go to a department store, they don't take a copy of the front and back of my card. I'm pretty mad.

I will have to go find a fax machine somewhere and do this because even though I haven't sent a letter of authorization, they have charged my debit account. If I don't go ahead with the transaction will take atleast 10 days to reverse into my account and I'm leaving for Disney on April 5th. I wish I could have paid with Paypal directly because I used my Paypal debit card. I hate to have a photo of my card out there.

If I would have know of this inconvenience ahead of time, I would have spent a bit more and ordered thru ticketmania.com or do they do the same thing?

Sorry for ranting :) Just wanted to warn everyone of what they will encounter.

I didn't know you had to do this either. I hope someone here who has used this company can shed some light on this for us. My daughter says that maybe they want the picture because of the signature? A department store actually sees the signature on the card. I haven't purchased our passes yet because we're thinking of maybe getting the Sun and Fun 30 day passes instead of the 10 day World Pass. What is the letter of authorization that has to be faxed? What information do they want on this? Can anyone here explain this to us please?

I ordered tickets from Paramount last year just after Disney raised their prices, but Paramount had not updated their website prices yet. I locked into the old prices. I didn't need them until our trip in December. I figured I would have to pay for them right away, but I held onto the fax letter and did not fax it until late November. They didn't charge my card until that time when they got the fax. Which was great, I got to keep my money for a couple more months but paid the old price. I didn't have to send a copy of my card. I would try not including this and see how it goes.

At Kmart if they can't scan your card (like if it's bent or something) they can manually punch in the numbers, but they take an imprint of the card to prove that they saw the acrd and didn't try random credit card numbers. If they didn't take the imprint, they would NOT be gauranteed payment because the customer could dispute the charges, and they would win without the imprint. I don't know if it may have something to do with that or not.

I just bought our second set of tickets from PT (30 day fun in the sun) Last year we bought the 10 day world pass from them. We just faxed our signature to them and no where on the paper work did it ask for a front and back copy of the CC. The paper work said we give permission to charge our card for specific ticket, etc. I would call the 800 number and talk to Rosa at PT. I ordered the tickets on Tues and recieved them today. I am so relieved as they are not going to be selling these tickets much longer according to Mary's site. I really didn't want to by an AP but that would of been my only option if not for the 30 day pass.

does anyone know if you can pay with a check or money order instead of a credit card?

Call Rosa at PT and ask 1 888 281 6699

I ordered from Paramount by phone (w/ Rosa) last week. At the bottom of the authorization page (The print is small and does not come through well w/ fax) it does say to copy front and back of the credit card and fax that back too. I have never done that and felt uncomfortable with it so I called Rosa. She was very understanding and said that many people have reservations about doing this. She said to just sign it and fax it w/o the card copy. I did this and recieved my tickets, etc. a few days later. No problem. I think they may have been ripped of in the past and are trying to verify possession of the credit card by the buyer. It is odd, though.

I work for a travel agency and we often prepay hotel room and taxes for our customers using our corporate credit card. We are ALWAYS asked to send copy of front and back of credit card, drivers lic., as well as authorization form. The merchant wants to make sure that the cc you're using is actually yours.

I figured it was probably something like that. Thanks everyone for explaining. I still think Paramount is the best deal around right now.

If you are not in a hurry, you don't have to fax the authorization. I mailed my authorization back via the United States Postal Service. For some reason, I felt safer using the mail than I did a fax machine.
