Question: Is it worth it to pay an extra 633 dollars to go from standard rooms at PP to standard at DLH? I've never stayed at either....

For me no it's not worth it. I've stayed at PP once, it was OK. We normally stay at a good neighbor hotel. This time we'll be at the Camelot Inn.

ETA to me a hotel room is just a place to sleep. I will say PP had cute Disney touches like the shampoo bottles the DLH would have even more neat Disney things about it.

For me nope! I love PPH and DLH but for that price I would most definitely stay at PPH. The rooms there are large and bright and it's got a fun theme. Plus you just cross the street and go through the GCH to get to DTD! I would save that $633 and use it for food and souveniers!

We stayed at DL hotel in 2014 and PP last month. We are going again next year and are hoping to go back to DH for what it's worth. The hotel at DH seems more updated, more Mickey atmosphere, and it seemed more inside the Mickey "bubble" as you weren't crossing a street to get to the park.

I know to most people a room is just a place to sleep, but with 3 little ones proximity is important to us. We had to go back to the room several times, to change clothes, take a break etc and it was SO worth it to us. If it were me like I said I would choose DH I don't think PP is much different proximity wise, but it seemed a bit further. Like I said DH seemed more inside the "bubble" as its pretty much in downtown Disney. When we visit we like to feel immersed in Disney. So not seeing cars, traffic lights, buildings etc is important to us. The less we see of the outside world the better it is IMO

For that much money, you could stay an extra night or two. That said, I'd rather stay at HoJo or maybe Fairfield before I stayed at PP. You save even more money, maybe even stay longer, and have the same walk at the end of each day.

I have stayed at both, although I prefer DH I think $633 is a lot of money. How long are you going for? Could you split your stay between the two resorts?

I'm only going to be there for 3 nights. i'll be at a conference in LA for 4 days before that. My flight is booked. So i'll be there from the 1st-4th

We stayed at DLH last year for 3 nights. Loved it. This year, we're staying at PP for 5 nights. Love that the rooms look so bright and cheery and can't wait to see the view(we booked upper level theme park view).

If I were sticking with a standard room at both hotels, I'd save my $633 and stay at PP.

I have stayed at all three.
For me it depends on how many grandkids tag along.
If we're going to have lots of pool time I prefer the DLH. There's more room around the pools and I like the lounge chair there.
If there will be little pool time, PPH is fine.
As far as the rooms between the two, I'd say there about the same.

As mentioned above, the park view from PPH is something! For the best view I believe you'll need to be above the 7th floor to miss the trees.
Save the $$ and stay at PPH. You can always stroll through the DLH grounds.

Enjoy your time at DLR

PPH rooms are bright and possibly bigger. Traditional hotel room layout. Easy walk across the street to GCH. Hotel amenities and service are ok. We stay here often. Unlike most people, we actually are in our room often. We have small children and take our time.

We just stayed at DH for the first time. The hotel grounds itself are nice. A nice escape from the park madness. We stayed in the frontier tower facing the CM/Simba parking lot. Our room was in the inside corner (near elevator) so unsure if our layout is the norm. But bathroom is smaller. Sink and closet are across the bath/toilet. Room was wider and not as long. Our room was darker since we only had half a window.

We always end up convincing ourselves to stay concierge at pp for less than a standard room at dlh. Having stayed at all three hotels, pp is actually my preference. I like the single bank of elevators and the bright large rooms. The grounds and the fancy lobby just aren't important to me. Just returned from a stay at gch and I really am not staying there again. The rooms are tiny and dark. If you want a nice room pph is your best bet. If you want more of a resort feel dlh might be a better fit. But not for nearly 700 in my book!

We love PPH! We would definitely stay there for that much less than DLH. We love PPH. :)

We LOVE the theme park view at PP. You can see WOC every night from your room without fighting the crowds, and can listen to the sound track and music from your TV. We also love seeing DCA all lit up at night from our window.
