Paradise Pier self parking question

I have heard conflicting reports regarding self parking at Paradise Pier Hotel. We have stayed at DH and GC before but never at PPH. Is it true that self parking for PPH is in a several story parking structure with no elevator?

If so, how did you parents with strollers and tons of kids supplies get your things out of the parking structure down the stairwell?

On another subject, we are going the first week of December, will the elevators be too much of an issue inside the hotel? I've heard about the long waits.

Yes there is no elevator in the parking garage. We always pull up to where you check in and unload everything, then one person goes and parks the car. Same thing when leaving.

Your question is the reason why we always valet park, plus last time we were at the PPH the CM gave us the valet parking for free, always a nice bonus.

We did valet last time. For $7 more a day, it's worth it, if you are going to use your car a lot. We didn't use ours at all last time, never left the 'magic of Disney'

We didn't know this when we stayed at PPH last weekend and that ended up being a pain Having to lug suitcases and bags down 4 flights of stairs was frustrating. Thankfully we didn't use my car again until I drove them to the airport, but it was still annoying. I definitely would recommend doing valet or finding a first level parking spot
