We know that, unlike DLH or GC, PP was not built for Disney. Does anyone remember what it was named before it became PP?

Disneyland Pacific Hotel I think. Before that it was called the Pan Pacific Hotel. My memory isn't what it used to be, but we stayed there before it was the Paradise Pier. If I am wrong, then I would love to know the answer to this one. It is making me rack my brain! :teacher:

Thanks, Holly! Thought the name began with a "P" and remember the hotel being painted white, not the current shade of yellow. Remember driving past the hotel and seeing the name at the top of the building where "Paradise Pier" is now. Just couldn't quite dredge up the name from the memory banks!

Holly,
I do believe you are correct. I also remember that it was the Pan Pacific Hotel before Disney bought it.

But when we answer these questions, do we show our age?

The hotel was actually The Emerald before PanPacific bought it! It hasn't been a Disney hotel for very long!

WOW , so it was called the Emerald before the Pan Pacific? Wow...who'd have guessed that this hotel had so many names. For all we know it will have a few more! I have to say it DOES give away my 41 years to have known the previous names of the Hotel. Oh well, Disneyland is still older than I am. :rotfl:

I also remember seeing Koi Fish in Ponds outside the Hotel, so that totally fits in with the Pan Pacific theme. And I'm only 29, so I don't think it makes us look THAT old...right? :rotfl:
