Paradise Pier instead of GC....

To elaborate on the pp, the only home resort available near DL is VGC and using points for other DL hotels is a perk only available if you have bought directly from Disney (or prior to when resale restrictions were put in place).

Where can I find info on how many points it takes to stay at the hotels? We have dvc at grand ca, but are interested in potentially more points and it'd be nice to but some with a different home resort.

It's under the Disney Collection. But, as said, only using points bought directly. The Grand is the only hotel with DVC where you can use points. Everywhere else that gets villas you can't use points for the hotel side anymore. As far as I know.

OP here! We are definitely sticking with the PP reservation we have made. We were offered all three DLR hotels when the VGC studios were unavailable but the points required for DLH and GCH were far more than we wanted to pay. While this is likely our only DLR trip, in the foreseeable future anyway, and we are willing to pay what it takes to stay at a Disney property instead of a Good Neighbor hotel, we weren't willing to quadruple the points it would take to stay on the hotel side of GC. It wasn't worth all that! PP was slightly more than a studio at VGC but still something we were willing to do. The other two were not. I'm neck-deep in the Disney kool-aid most of the time, but I do have to be financially responsible so we can go often! I appreciate everyone's suggestions and comments. I feel much better about PP after reading them!! Now I'll be wishing my summer away again so I can get on to October and Disneyland!!

We stayed a couple of years ago in concierge PPH for an anniversary with a 0 on the end of it. Were also stayed 1 night this last Dec. in the Grand with a view of Grizzly rapids. I'll take the PPH any day. But when we go to the DLR we don't spend time in the pools either.

I believe you can pool hop, or at least they said you can on the dis pod cast.

No pool hopping unless your own pool is closed for renovation. We were at PP with DD on a Make a Wish Trip, and we got special permission to try the GC pool one afternoon, but we had to make a special request and get issued a keycard.

I am not sure if DVC members staying at VGC on points can pool hop? Not sure why you would WANT to, although maybe kids would want to try the monorail slides at DL Hotel. Key card entry at GC, I can't remember if there is a gate at the DL Hotel pool, I think so.

We'll be at PPH at the start of October too! We picked it mostly on price, but I'd rather have the CL at PPH than the standard level at DLH, mostly because my DH can eat a ton for breakfast, so we'll get our money's worth just for that :rotfl:

Why not a regular room at the Grand?

Personally I would pick Disneyland hotel over PP. If this is going to be a once and only trip to DL I would stay at DLH. As there are no Disney hotels like DLH, even at the World. It is truly one of a kind.
I always prefer the Disneyland Hotel. The Grand is a little too stuffy, (beautiful, but a bit too grand) and the PP is a bit meh. DLH is PERFECT for a family.

Nopers. "When staying on your Membership at any Disney Vacation Club Resort at Walt Disney World Resort, or Disney's Vero Beach Resort"... It does not mention Disneyland Resort at all.

I don't listen to podcasts so I don't know what the previous poster heard, but if they said that and didn't include what we're saying, "unless your pool is closed for maintenance/repairs/renovation", then they (the podcast people) are wrong.

Unless you purchased resale points BEFORE March 2011 then you are grandfathered in such as us.
I shall chck but I thought they recently opened up the use of points to other hotels as well.

Hey guys, I have a few questions about booking PPH with DVC points:
How many people allowed in a room?
Is parking included?
Any resort fee?
Thanks for answering my questions.
