Paradise Palms vs Windsor Palms

I was all set to book a home at Windsor Palms, then I discovered some really nice homes at Paradise Palms. Has anyone stayed at both resorts? If so, which did you like better? The prices are about the same, but the homes at Paradise Palms seem larger. My only concern is that I've seen some negative reviews about the the drive and the traffic to Paradise Palms. Is it really worse than the drive to WP? Since our kids are small, the drive to/from the condo is very important because of afternoon naps. We stayed at Crestwynd Bay last time and were really happy with the drive.
Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I stay at PP frequently (2 or 3 times a year lately) because it is new and clean and close to Disney. If you use the back way to the west entrance of Disney (cross Irlo Bronson/192 from Westside onto AValon, turn right on Hertzog and it takes you right to the west entrance) it is only like 8 minutes from getting in your car at PP to Disney property, a couple minutes more and you're parking your car at MK, and there is zero traffic/stress. Its even shorter to Blizzard Beach or AK (12 minutes til you are parked and getting out of your car). I am guessing anyone complaining about traffic to Disney doesn't know that shortcut. No matter where we stay, I avoid 192 like the plague unless I want to go to Target or Miller's Ale House. 192 is a nightmare, esp right now with construction (they are trying to make it so its not a nightmare).

As far as Windsor Palms, I have been there twice but not stayed there myself. It is older but still nice. I think the community pool/clubhouse area at PP is far superior, plus every unit at PP has a small private pool. That is exactly how we got addicted to PP. I never thought I would want that little private pool but it is soooo nice when you are exhausted and don't want to go to the community pool in the evenings. Plus it just seems that the prices are less at PP. We always get an excellent deal and end up with a larger unit than we need.

Just my .02. If traffic is your main concern I would not worry a bit.

Here is a link to a google map showing how to get to DW from PP

Paradise Palms was on our short list: new, close, more luxurious feeling. We ended up nixing it because we wanted a full pool instead of a splash pool. If there had been a full pool option, we'd have chosen PP in a heartbeat.

Thanks so much for your input guys!!! I think I might be leaning towards PP now. :) The PP townhouse is larger and slightly cheaper than the one at WP. Plus the clubhouse/pool area there looks amazing! My biggest concern was the drive, but now it doesn't seem like that will really be a big deal.

Ametista- I was going to pm you, but I have no idea how to do it! Haha Since you've stayed there several times, have you had any experience with the onsite property management company? And are there any specific units you would recommend?

Thanks again for your input everyone! I really appreciate it! :)

I was going to rent a beautiful townhome at pp! The ow ner was awesome ans I got to know her through email. Ny daughter got sick so we weren't sure we could go and someone wanted to rent it. She asked me if it was ok first. I didnt want her to lose Money if I couldn't go.. but if you want her info pm me.

Is the unit you are renting being managed by Paradise Palms? Most are managed by Global Resort Homes or Florida Scandi but rented out a lot by owners over FlipKey/VRBO etc. GRH or FS will charge you a lot more so best to go through the owners. Onsite employees have always been really professional. I like the townhomes on Candy Palm, Coco Palm, or Majesty Palm as they are all only a 2 minute walk from the resort pool which is really awesome. Also the beer at the pool is cheap (if you care) as in like 2 bucks according to my husband.

The owner said this unit is managed by the onsite company. Are they pretty responsive?

I believe this unit is on Cat Palm. On Google, it looks fairly close to the clubhouse area, but then again I'm terrible at judging distance! Haha

And $2 beers would be awesome!!! Haha certainly better than the pricey ones on property! :) any idea if that area is open year round (since we're going in the off season) ?
Thanks!!

Yes the clubhouse and pool are open year round. Cat Palm is the closest to the clubhouse.
