Hello everyone,

I am planning a vacation to WDW the 3rd week of January, which is listed as a non-peak time. My concern is that we are arriving Saturday afternoon on the 17th and I didn't plan on going to a park for half a day on Saturday. We are planning on leaving the following Saturday in the am to fly home.

My question, what is the opinion of what I may be missing not being in a park on Saturday during the "value season" time? I would love to make sure we see the parades and fireworks while there. I'm planning on doing a 5 day Hopper Pass, with one extra day at Sea World, possibly the Saturday we arrive and then a "down" day of relaxing / shopping or shows. We could change our schedule to fly out on Sunday and have Saturday in the park, but figured this may be a crowded day we could miss and also have an extra day at home to recover from vacation before starting the work week again.

Does anyone have any opinions of my thought process?

I'm planning for 7 adults and 3 children, so I want to do a good job and these boards are awesome!!!!

Thanks in advance,

we went this past january. you have to plan carefully to make sure you don't miss spectromagic. they only ran it on saturday and wednesday while we were there.

keep checking the disney website for park hours and show times!

january is a great time to go! low low crowds, especially at universal! we literally walked on everything at universal islands of adventure.

we went with 7 adults and 4 children and had a blast!

I have not gone in Jan. In Sep this year we are going 24 to 28. I just checked the WDW site and Spectro is inly on Sat. The fireworks at MK are on another night between the Sat before and the Sat we are there. In Dec the first week is when we normally go, Sat is the only night they do Spectro. I would keep an eye on the WDW site and ready to maybe change your plans if Spectromagic is a must for you.

If Saturday is the only night they are running Spectromagic and you really want to see it - I'd go the first Saturday you are there. It will be crowded but you will be just arriving and so excited - you may not be put off by the big crowds.

I think you will be spoiled all week with the low-crowds and short line waits - that if you wait to the last Saturday, it may make your last night "not as memorable", shall we say! LOL!
