Parade Music Question

So here's a question about parade music. My husband and I have different theories on how it's done. (The example I'm thinking of is Boo To You)
Does the parade music get piped through speakers along the parade route and then each float plays its own special music, or is there more to it than that? Always been curious about this.

Wow, I have never thought much of that but good question. I would think it is in the speakers on the route and then each float as it passes you, has it's own themed music going but I'm sure there has to be someone on here that knows the actual answer to this. The little disney things you never think about but they do to make it all awesome!

I know for certain that for MSEP each float played it's own music but I don't know if that's true for all parades.

During my ICP, I used to be backstage while floats were getting ready to step off. I'm pretty sure Dopey's mine cart music used to play in my dreams.

Yes.
(Although the floats within a specific "section" (theme) all play the same
track in unison with each other.)

All of the floats and sections of speakers on the buildings along the route
are controlled by a central parade computer. That computer "knows"
where every float is located (the computer "tells" each float to speed up or slow down
to keep the proper pace and spacing) and the music tracks are fed to all elements
in proper order and timing so that all is in correct sync for the guests who are
at different locations along the parade route.

You have it right, Kungaloosh. Each float in a scene has its own speakers. As they pass into specific zones the music is then picked up and played over the street speakers.

This video is old, but it gives you the general idea: start at 32 minutes. It's still pretty much the same.
