so I've been reading everyone's reports about how crazy bad the crowds are after fireworks. If we intend to be in the park but not watching fireworks, is there a place we could be where we aren't likely to get run down after?
I saw a post saying the issue swept all over the park when they ended:ie horrible crowds in all lands.
I'm undecided about the parade and fireworks. I'd love to see them, but I'm not going to waste hours finding a spot for them and then worry I'll lose my kids or my mom in the aftermath.
Thanks for any suggestions!
We will be in the parks next week June 22-25

I watched F! last night at 9 and then saw the fireworks from my F! spot. Then went on a couple rides (jumped on a walk on POC after the fireworks were over and when we came out it wasn't a stampede anymore) and at 11 ended up in the ice cream parlor on Main Street. The parade started while we were in there so while DGF was waiting on her ice cream I was waiting in the doorway of the shop out of the way of traffic and had DD on my shoulders watching the parade from there. It was a great view with the roped off area being small at that part of Mainstreet. I didn't have to wait or scope out a spot at all, I just happened to be in the right spot at the right time. I would totally plan it out that way though next time. Just make sure we are in the ice cream and candy store half way down Main Street at the start of the parade and then just watch. If the CMs say anything then step back inside the store and say your shopping till they are gone. I had one CM recommend I stay there to watch and then two others came by saying I can't stand there. I told them that another CM told me to and they walked away. They told some other people who were in the middle of the doorway that they couldn't stand there also but could stand one or two steps back in the store even though it made zero difference in anything as the people were not in the way of anything accept narrowing the space in the doorway to the shop.

But if the later parade show is an option you would likely be able to find a spot without wasting a lot of time.

I think the areas where they intend for guests to watch fireworks from tend to be very busy before and after fireworks. So that's Main Street, the It's a Small World Mall, and the F! viewings areas around the River of America. I don't think there are huge impacts on Tomorrowland (far side, over by Space) and Critter Country because there aren't going to be many guests in those areas trying to exit the area after fireworks. So if really want to avoid the parade/fireworks/F! crowds, your best bet is to be far away from those areas as possible.

In terms of viewing, I concur that the second parade is generally easier to find a spot with less of a wait. Like coaches24, I do think the CMs in the shops on MS are having trouble with guests blocking the doorways. I was on the other side, by the Clothing shops, and the CMs didn't really care if you stood in the shop while the parade went by, but you could not block the doorway. It makes sense from a safety perspective, so they asked anyone that stopped to either enter the store or keep moving, but they could not stand directly in the doorway.
