Paper Wars

Ugh!!!! I clean off my desk and a new bigger pile of paper returns. It never stays de-cluttered!!! I do toss some of the papers before they hit the desk. But receipts, school papers, magazines, coupon booklets, anything of interest accumulates in a pile or piles. It happens again and again, like the movie, "Ground Hog Day". I haven't had the time to organize the stuff when it comes in. But I'm re-thinking it. I need a system where I'm organizing before it's a mess! I think I need a multi-tiered desk thing.

Anyone else waging a paper war?

The weather conspired with the paper, and the paper won! I concede. I couldn't get into work yesterday, so I just called my secretary, and told her to hide the stacks of paper on my desk so I can just pretend they don't exist when I get in there on Monday. (Fortunately, I have all the important stuff taken care of...this is just stuff that needs to be sorted through by me. Sec'y can't do it for me.)

It's the judge's fault. Usually, I have at least two weeks to write a report for Court, but I have a juvenile who has been in detention since December 23rd. Last Monday, the judge asked if I could get a report and recommendations written by Thursday about the juvenile. I got the report finished, but I had to let the rest of the paperwork pile up. Those few days are going to take me weeks to get caught up. Fortunately/unfortunately, I've dealt with this juvenile for 2 1/2 years, so I had most of the info I needed. I just needed to get it into report format so I could justify my recommendations. I can't wait until Court next week. The defense attorney and I are going to have fun, fun, fun!
