Paper tickets?

Our 4-day park hopper tickets arrived for our upcoming trip, and I was surprised to find that for the first time they are paper, not plastic. Does anyone know if I can exchange them for plastic tickets when we arrive? I'm afraid of the paper ones getting torn or wet by the end of our trip.

Unfortunately the plastic tickets are something that have to be purchased at places like local grocery stores, the Disney Store, or occasionally will be received through travel packages, but they don't have them available at the parks for a trade. Just keep them in a safe, dry place!

Before we started getting APs we used to always have the paper tickets. We never had a problem with them. I just kept them in my purse.

Try to keep them dry, but otherwise, they should work just fine. Most of the tickets at WDW are actually this material, including the Annual Passes. At the core, the "paper" tickets are usually based on Tyvek, which is the same paper used for some larger mailing envelopes. These have fibers built into them in such a way that they are very hard to tear. The only time I have ever ruined a paper ticket is by putting it through the washing machine - and then I was lucky because it was a WDW AP and I could get it replaced! :thumbsup2

Bring a small ziploc bag to keep them in your purse/bag. This is a good idea for your cell phone too on rides like Splash and GRR.

I booked a package thru Disney and go a plastic ticket (cars themed). Maybe because they are 5 day park hoppers?

Out of curiosity, what do your Parkhoppers look like? I ordered mine but the CM could not tell me what designs were on them this year. (Ours are Parkhoppers purchased through Disney directly if that makes a difference in what they will look like.)
I remember our DL tickets always were a little cuter than WDW tickets. Are there characters? Any pics?

Thanks

We just received our 4 day park hoppers from AAA. They are plastic and have different Cars characters...Lightning McQueen, Mater and two of them have the van with flowers on it...don't know her name!

G'day

We just received our 4 day park hopper passess and they are small paper tickets.

Does anyone know if we can lamainate the passes or will that void them?? We are very carefult with them but better safe than sorry.

cheers

I bought plastic tickets at Safeway (SF Bay Area). These were the special $199 3-day parkhoppers that are valid until the end of May. The adult tickets have Buzz and a LGM on them. The child ticket has Rex on it.

I wouldn't laminate them. I think even if they do still scan at the gates, you'd have trouble at the FP machines. We store our APs (which are plastic for DL, but paper for Sea World) in one of those little plastic pouches for lanyards. I use one from the parks (with Tink on it) for the APs (it has a ziploc slider seal) and a generic large nametag lanyard pouch (open top, no seal on it) to hold our FPs.

Sorry! Sorry!
I have this tendency to hijack threads... I will bring this question to a new thread!

As far as the tickets, I keep them in my zippered cargo pocket. Never had an issue with getting them "too" wet. Disney knows they have water rides and we mere mortals are not always smart enough to keep our tickets safe! Mine have outlasted every odd mishap we have had so far...
DON'T laminate or "do" anything to them though. If you have to, use a baggie to keep them safe. :)
