I seem to be opposite people! If you send me an invite in e-mail, I may see it but I will end up forgetting about it! I ended up not paying our cable bill for about 6 months once because I went to paperless billing (not sure why I did it) -- never saw the bill, didn't realize I hadn't paid! OOPS!!! I need to have that piece of paper in front of me.

I put invites up on the fridge, so I see it all the time. If I don't, I will completely forget!

Now, I could print out the invite from e-mail I suppose but I have a tendency to see the e-mail think "I will respond later" and then out of sight/out of mind happens.

It is also why I have 2 paper calendars (one in my purse & one on the wall), that I put work schedules, kids schedules, etc.... on vs. putting it all in my phone like people do.

Besides, I do like to get things in the mail besides bills. I know my DD still loves getting stuff in the mail even if it is junk mail! She loves things addressed to her.

Paper for formal events as many have stated.

But, I just don't understand the negativity toward evite and the like on this thread.

I get at least one evite every two weeks between parties for my ds's friends and events like bbq's and bunko, etc.

Heck, I received three evites just for Easter gatherings. Sorry, but it's the new standard. There are fewer and fewer people these days that do not embrace technology.

I use both.

Paper invites for DS's school friends (as I dont' know their parents emails); etc. Also, for formal occasions, weddings, graduations, etc. A lot of people like mementos (yes, I'm one of them).

Evites for family gatherings, party invites for DS's Cub den, etc.

We started using evite for our huge Christmas party. We invite over 100 and about 70 come, so sending out that many paper invites cost a fair amount of cash. We can now put that money toward the party.

I use paper invites for kids birthday parties, so they can get the actual invitation, and for formal parties.
