Paper express passes and expiration dates

We had some terrible luck (or awesome if you look at it that way) on this trip. Several of the rides we were on malfunctioned and we had to be evacuated. Admittedly this was kinda neat for a few of them. But as we left we were given a paper express pass that we were told was good for 6 months. Which was great as we already had express passes for this trip, but we not going to have them on our next trip in June. As I'm unpacking and putting everything away for the next trip, I noticed the passes expire in a few weeks, not the 6 months we were told. I'm kinda kicking myself for not noticing this when we were down there. Anyone have any luck using these after the expiration date or should I just throw them out?

I would suggest call, or better yet email Universal in terms of the express passes and even take photos of them if you plan to email that way it's in writing. Perhaps, if you are proactive in acting now, have specific on dates on when you were there, and requesting assistance perhaps they will issue new ones, or do something else for you?

You could call them and ask. I definitely would not throw them out until I was told at the park it is a no go. It could very well be one of those cases where YMMV.

We have also been given those. Noone has ever said when they have to be used by but I have never asked either, and never looked at them closely enough to spot an exp date. We usually just give them to some one who looks like the would enjoy them because we also have EP and will have it next time too.

We also were offered the paper express pass when Transformers stopped mid-ride on us a couple weeks ago. That was an interesting experience also. We didn’t bother to take any since we already had express passes. Were the ones you got one time use only or unlimited?

Just an update: I emailed Universal and they confirmed the expiration date is non-negotiable and if I show the unused passes after the date, they will not honor them.
